Got my 12 sec slip! Oh Hell Yeah

Met mindless, Gadgetized, Mike from New Era and HydroStream at the track last with a goal of a 12.x slip. Boost is at 11 psi with the cutout closed on 93 pump.
Going there I zeroed out my mpg and for the 30 mile trip with the cruise at 70 got me this.

1st pass. Left at 5 psi. 2.0 sixty, 13.1 at 103. Got yelled at for no helmet.
2nd pass. Left at 5 psi. 2.1 sixty, 13.0 at 104. Yelled at again so I used Mindless’
3rd pass. I lined up with Gadget. His stare down is way to friendly =]

and this from his truck:
Choda 12 86 @ 104 left lane - YouTube

4th pass. Left at 0 psi. 1.8 sixty, 12.9 at 104 and called it a night. I have vids taken from my truck but I cant log into my youtube to host them right now. Ill post them up later.

Every pass I was spinning all four tires. Obviously less only leaving out of vacuum but any boost outta the hole was horrible. I did get a chance to look around my front end for limiting straps. The NNBS front ends are a little different then the NBS ones that are posted on this forum. Ill basically follow the same steps just mount them in separate spots. Before any limiting straps, I would like to try suspension changes ( lower the rear ).

Special shout out to Trick Performance, New Era, and all my track buddies. Im pretty happy with officially having a 12 second dd truck.

nice…

Forgive me for not knowing but what kinda car do * have? Good times tho

told ya, I was extremely close to what I told you I thought it would run

Trucks a rocket awesome to see a big truck move out like it does keep it up buddy!!

the mph seems low to me, it did a 13.6 at 101. I dropped that much et and have 3 more psi for 3 mph? hmmm

the in truck vids I have, I can def hear and see something going on in 3rd gear. it kinda slows down, like a rough spot of something going on. Many truck guys say its the weak stock valve springs.

I lost my password and will load the vids to youtube Monday

Here is another vid of the same race. You can see how much my truck jumps, kicks and spins. Also check out my g tech shift light flashing. The g tech was within a tenth all four runs. the mph varied about 2 mph higher than my actual trap speed.

You’re still on stock valve springs?

Bone stock motor w 78k.

Upgrade the valve springs bro  and while your at it LS6/boost cam

Pick up a few more HP and runs completely stock

Those are Already in the works plus more. Stay tuned.

I have the crank pulley and valve spring tool when you are ready.

Good stuff dude  what’s next for mods?

eventually here when my truck is not as new I’ll be making some changes, I would love to have a daily driver truck in the 12’s

Next will be Stage III. Some suspension tweaks and Cam. Springs. Lifters. Studs, Pushrods… Etc. Then I’ll be done with it. It’ll make good power on the dynos and surprise a lot of people at the track. Plus tow crap and load the family up.

Can’t wait

What happened to the guy in the right lane? He went 12.08 at only 99?

nice job

Trapped 96 in the 1/8 spinning and lifting. Hahaha

Thanks. It’s getting there

I’m jealous. I’m afraid of the 4L70E telling me to f*ck off to do any mods.

does Adam (hydrostream) still have his GTO? Havent seen him in years great guy. What was the guy in the other trucking driving built SRT10? Tought o tell in the pic but kinda looks like a ram

my friends tbss had the transmission let go and hes just intake/exhaust/tune with some servos/shift kit in the trans. lol.

A lot of the issues revolve around heat

Hot lapping/constantly beating on it do that

Tranny cooler is a must and the the appropriate amount of tranny fluid.
