I was driving on the parkway towards pittburgh Right past the Green tree exit. There was traffic. I saw it coming a 92 lasarbe smashed into a 05 accord which smashed me in my work truck (chevy have ton). The airbags went off when he hit me, this was around 10:30am .
cops came yada yada.
Should i go to the hospital? I am sore. and prob going to get worse? any steps i should take to get compensated or whatever?
any help would be good. i am sure some of you has been threw this a few times…
If you go to the ER to be checked out…you’re going to have to pay your co-pay…which is small beans to be sure nothing’s wrong.
Get thier insurance stuff, as usual, and all contact info…just in case. Your/thier insurance will cover your out of pocket medical expenses depending on what you decide to claim.
Also, this would be a work-related injury since you are on company time while driving a company vehicle. Check with your HR dept about how to proceed that way…so you gt paid leave for doctor/specialist visits. You pay your health premium for a reason, use it.
Go ASAP the next day is ALWAYS bad. When I got hit that night it wasn’t too bad and the hospital actually sent me home but the following morning I could barely move. Get something for pain for tomorrow because chances are you’ll probably feel it. Glad to hear you’re alright though!
that is the first thing your parents tell you at 16 when you get your cinderalla…if your in an accident…and are hurt…go to the hospital immediately…people want to be idiots and crash…then you do whats needed to make sure your ok
Car insurance should pay your medical bills, including any applicable co-payments that you have under your medical insurance - note that your medical insurer may very well try to make the car insurance pay the entire bill, not just the co-pay, but that’s between the insurers as in either case you get your care paid for. Check with your insurance company (or more likely your employer, since you normally wouldn’t use your personal car insurance to drive a work vehicle) to determine the limits of your policy and the procedure for claiming medical treatment coverage and then talk to the other guy’s insurance company as well. Really his policy should cover it but they may drag their feet.
Have it recorded with your employer’s HR. Even if you don’t have a serious injury now, even if the hospital sends you home, you should turn it in to work in case something develops or you need to see doctors later.
Keep in mind that your insurance company/employer’s insurance company can handle a lot of shit on your behalf. If the other guy’s insurance is jerking you around or the guy has some BS story, your insurance company will mediate it. Remember anything you say to his insurance company can and will be recorded as insurers will do whatever it takes to avoid paying out a claim.
in your neck? i’m guessing in the back? Just to give you a bearing on it…i fell on my tail bone when i was little from something that was only a foot off the ground…hurt bad as fuck for a few days…went to the chiro a year or two ago and had severe nerve damage in my neck from the shock that went up my spine…its been corrected but your neck is nothing you want messed up
glad your ok, the muscles in your neck are most likly spasming, also know as whiplash, do not say you are ok, this is a workers comp claim and in most cases it will remain open for quite some time because of the long term effect crashes can have on a body, like everybody else said you will feel it in the morning, when my civic got wrecked i went through 9 months of therapy and it took workers comp over 2 years to close the case… that was 4 years ago and i am still in pain and i am still in a fight with the assholes insurance to pay me what i deserve,
