Got some gifts from summit for the 5.0 today

zinc coated slotted ebc Rotors

new trans crossmember had to change to a double hump to fit the x pipe

I went with a xpipe every where i read it seemed like the best choice for the most flow

after watchin a bunch of videos on youtube and checkin out a friends car at my college that has the maganflow. I decided to go with the magnaflow catback it seemd to have the deep sound of the borla without the raspyness of the slp and it was cheaper than both of the other two.

and a few extra goodies

K&N filter

Smog pump delete bracket

Ford racing Radiator it was time to replace the orginal one with 100k miles on it lol.

And … it decided to blizard in april :fu:

Hope to have get most of it in next week

Good stuff! I can’t wait to get back into mine.

thanks for the feed back when you guys hit the south towns let me know. do you guys still do taffy’s or duffs anything in the hamburg op area? id like to meet some of the other guys with 5.0s on here

Once I get mine together I will be up for about anything…being out of the scene for a few years, I am kinda itching to get back into cruises and hang outs.

nice your notch looks super clean id be down to do for some cruises in the next couple weeks hey we can even let the fbod guys join in lol:grouphug:

Thanks…its much cleaner in the pics…I have a long way to go with it.

First trying to figure out how the stupid bumper cover and fender come off lol

Word…I’m in the same boat.

Front cover attaches to the fenders with like 5 bolts. You should be able to see them pretty easily from under the car. At the door are the remaining bolts, I believe you can access them by opening the door and getting at them from the door jam area. Also, don’t forget the bolts under the hood at the inner fender, and the wheelwell plastic.

Not to hijack but I have everything but the front 2 fender bolts out…I can easily access them but they spin the entire nut/bolt instead of just the nut.

Also the bumper cover has this plastic rivets holding it to the headlight panel.

Visegrips on the backside of the bolt so it doesn’t spin? I think I’ve taken the headlight panel out with the cover…this was like 8 years ago when I parted out a few fox bodys, so my memory is a bit vague.

There is no backside…they are molded into the headlight bezel.

very nice, i love new parts!. You will love the magnaflows, i have them on my 302 and i love them. judging by your body style and that K&N are you carbed? looks like an 84? Meeting up with more of the local 5.0s sounds fun. I’m wiring up my new nitrous kit right now lol

a couple pics of my motor when i was dropping it back in last winter…

  1. It had a slightly different grill and for this year, it is carbed 85 was the last year for it if you bought a t5 stick car you got a holley 600cfm 4 barrel with a more agressive roller cam it was good for 220hp/255ftlbs the autos got the prototype efi set up and only 180hp. hopefully with my msd 6al, wires, the smog delete, exhaust, and k&n im hoping to see a little more 245hp/275ftlbs? after i clean it up a little more im hopin to run a small shot of:tspry: but im not sure how much the 7.5" rearend can handle:meh:

nice 38stang that bodystyle has begun to start growing on me more and more lately i like them lowerd with a nice set of meaty tires in back. heres a few more shots of mine last summer before i swaped the wheels.

So this is what you were talking about the other day my friend. cant wait to hear it.

Do you have e6 heads or e7 heads on your car? If they are only e6 heads bec I think they used them til 85 I have a set of e7s you can have cheap

ummm honestly the internals are stock from carb to oilpan so what ever came on the 85 cars ive asked around on other forums about the internals in the past but this year motor is kind of a black sheep of the foxbodys everything has been a pain in the ass to order every part in summit is marked for 86-93 or 94, I have to cross refference every thing on other sites. I would imagine if they are the stock heads off of your motor they are probably quite a bit bigger valve wise then mine. So I may be interested because i have to do head work this summer anyways its leaking and burning a little bit of oil i think its valve seals.

looks nice I like that year stang

When I had my Cobra, Summit was my best friend. Anyways, it looks like you made some very good choices on the parts. I completely agree on the Magnaflow exhaust.
