In a road car sure, but in a kart the difference is everywhere. You’re constantly pinned at the throttle. There’s also no suspension, just flex in the chassis and tires. Less weight means the car can go faster before the rear gets out of line on fast turns.
We were doing 28s and 29s on the uptown track and the lap record is a 25…by a 13 year old kid.
That’s what I started doing and it got me turning 31sec laps :lol I couldn’t find a line until that last race with you guys I found a solid line!
And I really don’t think the weight was THAT big of a factor, I mean sure I had an edge over say Cossey or John, but other than that, it’s just an excuse for you guys :tong :nana
I was thinking about it when I got home…The people that set the records are probably A. either kids that go there for practice for road course go-karting for like WKA(World Karting Association)[what i used to race in] or people that make it a weekly event to go there, OR spend all day there with a track rental or something.
:tong Dude once I got in the groove I was banking lap times as fast as everyone else. I really really want to go with Archie to the big time karts in the spring!
I think the fact that I spoke with one of the crew there after the first race about the e36 is what allow me to get all over the car vs all you other folks. I was talking with him how I had built three of those vehicles(pointing out JClark and Micare sitting at the bar) and was poking around it. I got the thumbs up to do so…hence me opening doors and peeking around inside w/o incident from the desk folk.
Either that or is was my smooth style looking like I rolled straight in off the Nurburgring… :lol
And yes, I am REALLY messed up right now from that hit during the last race. Pulled muscles in both delts and lats, think I pulled a muscle in my left foot/ankle from when i got caught under the brake pedal, left bicep really sore, mid-lower back bruised, left thigh bruised, right chest sore. It was a double whammy for me casing off the wall and then a head-on from Jesse going balls out into turn one trying to get past me <-------didn’t work so well that time around
True that, I’m fucking DIEING right now :lmao My shoulderblade/back area is literally black and blue from getting T-Boned by cazwrx at FULL SPEED when Jeff and Mackenzie failboated a tandem-drift going through the small esses before the front straight at the downtown track. They spun out, then I think Wayne spun out trying to avoid them, I came flying around and smashed the brakes only to be facing exactly 90 degrees to the left, then it was all over when Chuck came around and hit me at full speed :lol :lol :lol :lol
