graduation

I wanted to let everyone know that even if you are retrarded you can graduate college. I myself went to a vocational school, did not plan on doing anything but working a job after high school and here I sit graduating college last night with my four year degree from Plattsburgh state. I went to Canton for there automotive program too and felt is was important to continued my education. So all you guys that are still young just maybe taking the two years at HVCC. Invest in your brain and go to school until you want to vomit. For me I will be getting my masters degree as I work at a baller job

Congrats, real education is definitely worthwhile.

Congrats. Sounds like a success story.

Unfortunately, you are right. A lot of schools will get you by with a C (Look at our President for example) or so if you should up which is insulting to those that put in the effort.

Kindof ironic, wouldn’t you say?

But congrats anyway.

Or you could just get your associates in only 2 years with a degree in IT and in 3 years be making $50K +

Less school = About the same amount as a person with a BA per year = Smart move

I was originally going to school for business for my BA but decided that even if I got that degree I would be making 30-40K tops in this area. So, I sat down decided that I really really love computers and technology. So I switched my degree to IT Information Systems and will be done this fall. Although my start will be entry level and the pay will be 30K+ to start, the job security and potential is very promising in today’s world.

I’m good with that…

The last two companies I worked for will not hire 2 year degree IT people. I know some are different.

Yea that is true Shawn but it is all about getting your foot in the door. Once you have experience and a proven track record most, if not all places will be interested in you whether or not you even have a degree. I have a very close friend who got just his 2 year degree in IT. Started out entry level doing networking and then switched over to IS. He’s been doing it for 5 years and he now mkaes 70K+ in this area, which is pretty damn good. The last two places that offered him a job didn’t even look at his education, they were interested in the bizzillion things he has experience in.

Very true.

This area is in major need of IT people. Some have their own company policies on education and some do not.

Yeap

im glad i graduated. i only liked the social aspect of going to college. i hate tests, papers, writing assignments, doing research for boring stuff that isnt relevant to my interests(4 chan reference there for you) and especially homework :runaway

so I wasn’t an english major and after the college graduations events it was a little hard to type ;D ;D
