Grilled Cheese!

So what types of bread do you guys make your grilled cheese out of?

I almost feel grilled cheese is an anytime food like bacon.

The good thing is that it allows you to drink beer for breakfast if so desired in my eyes.

(I didn’t drink beer with breakfast, I had a beer with my grilled cheese.)

This morning I woke up with grilled cheese on fresh french bread, with a stout Murphy’s drought.

Also, do you like it lightly or heavily toasted?

Edit: Additives! Ham, peppers, pepperoni, tomato soup etc.

i havent had grilled cheese in forever.

medium toasted on white bread with American cheese…sometimes throw some pepperonis in there too.

Sourdough + cheddar FTW.

Two slices of sharp american on fresh rye. Make 3 total. Add campbell’s tomato soup and a guinness and I am one happy camper :tup:

i have a great skillet that i cook them on. I prefer white or rye.

i’m a white guy but rye sounds good

I like white, lightly toasted.
Sometimes I’ll use pepperjack cheese (pretty awesome).
American + Ham is great.
In fact, I think im going to go make a few now ;]

I do enjoy it with tomato soup… a lot.
But I don’t like tomato soup.
Except for dippign the grilled cheese in it. lol.

I had a grilled cheese sandmich for the first time in months today because I noticed this thread this afternoon and couldnt decide on what to eat for lunch.
Thanks NYSpeed for making my day a tad bit less decisive!..and thank you America for being so lazy and fat for making such a simple yet delicious sandwich.

grilled cheese on wheat w/ pepper jack cheese and some warm spag sauce to dip it in. deliciousness.

and yeah, pepperjack is pretty amazing with some sort of marinara sauce to dip in.

Franks hot sauce is also a good addition to most any grilled cheese.

I’d have to go with wheat bread, heavily toasted but not black. American cheese always.

Ham makes a nice addition if there is some in the fridge.

only one way to eat grilled cheese, and that is with bacon.

Burnt grill cheese + tomato soup = AMAZING…
