ground wire extension??

i have a new ground terminal that i want to install (with the rest of my system) but my existing wires is too short. was just wondering how you guy would do this, or if anyone knew a good way to. I bought a 1 gauge ground wire, and two large ring connectors, just not sure if they will be sufficient.

Theres a Female - Female Gold Plated Conector that you can use and it accepts up to 1 gauge.
It can be found at most car audio shops.
