Growth down to 1.6%, economy chat ITT.

To add to that.

Politicians have been arguining over the same dozen isssue for the last 100 years, an what happens when they get elected? Nothing, nothing drastic changes, ever. Unless we get attaked.

We have hundreds of elected politicians everywhere but who is doing what to fix our economy? Just about nobody, they just ride the wave that’s going to crash.

We have to stop spending money, I don’t care where it’s we have to cut the fat, but it has to be done.

China owns us. China is communist. Are you ready to turn red?

The best part about these types of threads is everyone always has a different idea and feels they are right while everyone else is an idiot. :rofl

Your analogy is rudimentary at best. See i said he was retarded. Your comparison would go well with obama who may be trying to do too much. However, JWB was like a teacher who knew less than a student. He came in because he had more money => Better campaign and made the american people believe that he was good for his word on the changes he was going to make. The president plays the biggest role out of anyone in the government. With the ability to veto, select certain administration, and most importantly he needs to meet feasible needs of the american people. The guy was a dope. No knowledge for the economy. He has advisors and managers running his oil business just like he did with this country.
Asked to name his “most wonderful moment” in office during an interview with the German newspaper Bild, President Bush had this to say:

“I would say the best moment of all was when I caught a 7.5 pound largemouth bass in my lake.”

Please tell me you guys are joking.

Now i understand what your saying but in no way was JWB a school teacher who spent assigned too much work. Ill tell you one thing he did too much of and that was spend money. Clinton left a surplus of 127 billion in 2001. By 2005 we were 319 billion in debt. How the fuck do you spend 446 billion in a matter of 4 years. Also bush should undoubtedly take the blame. He is one of the worst presidents of all time next to Andrew jackson. See one thing people fail to see is that they chose a president with a “military” background. (Though he never actually served). That means his weak point is the economy. Well look what happened. Military stength alone means nothing, because MONEY IS POWER.

Your thinking is exactly why I can’t stand Dems/Liberal half of the time.

Clinton is the one to blame for the deficit. Did you ever ask why we had a 127 Billion dollar surplus during his time in office? It was because he basically forced banks to lend money to people who normally wouldn’t have been able to get it. This stimulated the economy greatly in the short term. However, the failure was to see the long term effects. All of those people who took out loans and spent it were no longer paying the loans back. Sending the country sinking quickly into debt.

You also realize Obama has spent countless more dollars than GWB correct?

This country needs people who are willing to fight for the working class, and what I mean by that is anyone who is not freeloading, rich or poor.

No. Clinton created a surplus because he did not cut taxes. Bush thought he could cut taxes and still maintain public works and other jobs that require money from the budget. Think about it if less is coming in, and your spending the same, well your going to run out pretty quick then.

Obviously Obama has spent trillions more than bush did. Theres no denying it. However obama was put into office in the middle of a shit storm. Bush was given office when the DOW was still above 13000. Maybe it was because clinton allowed banks to make stupid loans. Its the people who are taking out the loan who are at fault. Trying to afford housing thats 5 times their annual salary and 60% of their net income. Keeping up with the JONES’ i believe thats called.

I agree with your last post. Vote NADAR

Every presidential race in modern history has been won by the candidate who raised and spent the most money. 41 wasn’t the first or the last. In fact, Pres. Obama raised and spent more than any candidate in history.

If you want to get into the whole Clinton v. Bush argument, you need to recognize that it was under Clinton that Gramm-Leach-Bliley and the CFM Act were signed, both of which had a MAJOR effect on the 2008 collapse.

Bush also had to deal with the financial fallout of the 9/11 attacks not even 8 months into his first term and the ensuing war. Clinton lucked out because there were no major conflicts of any sort happening under his watch. That makes a HUGE difference. He also happened to be dealing with a Republican Congress which gave the country a good balance. Single party rule does not work. Bush’s first 6 years and Obama’s term thus far illustrate that.

Money can’t buy happiness.

Unless you live here. For example, have you EVER seen a sad person riding a waverunner? :rofl
