sure they can make more power with a RWD platform, more room! Stock montes are ok but its about the same performance wise as my 85 brick SS. Anytime the engine isn’t in sideways with a transaxel you are gonna have more options for performance. Why no LS1, LC2, BB fwd cars? can’t do it! no room. buick had to scrap the LC2 cause there was no more platform to use it in. Sure he 3800 series is the same block size but they still never matched that performance even with the super on it.
300 ft/lbs of tourque?? is that all? my crappy 307 is close to that. How about upwards of 510 ft lbs in my GS!!!

i didnt know that 307s had that much tq. i think mine only had 140hp and 245 tq this was in a regal
now getting torque out of a 4cyl. is priceless by the time you make alot of
torque out of a 4 cyl. just think how much you could of made with more cyl
not saying it isnt possible. but i see alot of hp out of these cars and hardly

but where is your torque curve? with larger disp. motors the torque is lower
in the power band. when smaller motors make torque its alot higher in the
band.
like cuttys car probaby has all that torque around 2500 rpms
yours is probably at 5000 rpm or so

i was referring to the lack of traction with FWD torque monsters… as you know when the driver hammers the gas, the rear end dips and transfers weight off of the front wheels. When you have a FWD with tons of torque you spin forever. I saw captain chaos’ built motor turbo civic this weeknd at the track…he had street tires on and pretty much blew off the tires past the 330’ mark.
And dont even get me started on FWD torque steer, i HATE that shit. :mad:
