I’m sure the aftermarket will be huge, but gm still fucked up a nice idea from the factory.
car and driver also said the camaro could only run a 13.7 too

which is true!!!
but it’s still cool to see 8 second FWD’s

plus with FWD and your on the track and the same set of tires/wheels are doing eveything Accel, Braking, turning…its rough and thats why FWD’s always have understeer problems.
its all vehicle/driving dynamics.

exactly…same here
but if you really push your car hard i’m sure it will understeer…
probably when doing a full accel out of the corner you’ll notice it doesn’t want to turn as much
most FWD’s with tons of suspension work, can get a 4 wheel drift in the corner, but at some point it usually still understeers, and then to compensate you do lift throttle oversteer.
i was taught how to drive my car without understeer through bends and with a heavy rear sway my ass end whips around…
I am telling you i get no understeer as of right now and with me knowing how to drive my car… when the turbo goes on, will see how it goes with the boosted power… i think traction will be a bigger enemy then

yeah driving is key…
when you get the turbo on i think you’ll get what i was saying…traction problems accel out of the turn…which will seem like a understeer
Thats the problem i have…traction accel out of the turn…but a LSD would help me out a lot.
the tires can only do so much work…if you look at it like this
they can do 100% work…but if your putting in 40% steering the car and 75% accel the car the tires can’t handle that, and that is when understeer accurs.
but like you said knowing how to drive your car, practice, track time etc…can eliminate those errors.

I knew someone would bring up the tornado, well obviously there was enough room. As far as the drivetrain, i was talking to a guy that was at nationals and he was a former olds dealer, he told me they never once had a tornado in for axle service. the axle they used was far more than that car needed, it was used in some tanks and light armored vehincals. Street rodders still use this set up for its durability.

i found out that cheap tires suck when takening bends. i once had a severe
understeer where i slide across 2 lanes almost into the on coming lane. this
was on 60 by the 79 interchange. found out that good compound tires are
better when driving hard. and pep boys tires on the back make for some nice
ass whipping around.

What is there to respond to? A very well known car publication reported that the car ran a 14 flat.
Am I supposed to care that they only got a 13.7 out of a camaro. Maybe that was an uncorrected time, or they got a shitty car. I don’t care
But for 30 grand and all the hype, the new GTO is a flop.

Well, I love the GTO. It has just about everything I am looking for in a car. Nice engine, beautiful interior, 6-speed, RWD, ind. suspension, 2-doors. I doubt the car will truely flop, you get a lot of car for the money, especially if you consider what you got when you bought a $35k WS6.
My only complaint would be the rear 3/4 view of the car. It just doesn’t look right to me. Other than that, I may likely be selling my Z28 to get in line for the GTO.
