i wasxz at the auto x with habib thursday it was a blast
but auto x is mostly about the driver
anyways this had a pro driver in booth cars so thats pretty impressive
i watched it hoping i’d see a GTO at an autox…that was a track
for all intents and purposes it was autoX thoough
hardly, autox is a lot harder on suspension/tires than at the track because of reacting quicker for shorter bursts
i guess the film editing made the track seem shorter/tighter
The US model would be equivalent to the WR1, lapping a half second faster or so. The basic WRX STi in the UK gets the 2.0L with 260hp.
Or you’re not particularly familiar with autocrossing, where speeds rarely exceed 60mph or so. He was solid in what looked to be 4th gear in that one section, well over 100 isin’t it?

those test results look suspect to me… An Audi S4 beating an NSX-R and Porsche 911TT?
I didn’t see the NSX on that list, but the Porsche was tested in the wet.
Yea that was weird, but then I noticed they placed a (W) next to the R and the 911 so i’m with Mike they probaly tested those in the wet. Between those two cars you could probaly add a few seconds onto them in the dry.
As for the GTO vs WRX, in a road race yea i’d say it’d be close. In SCCA road racing classes the EVO’s and STi’s havn’t been so hot. Not sure why exactly, but the for the time being the V8 cars are pulling in the wins. At autox though the AWD is pretty hard to touch, STi’s are damn good at lower speeds like autox. Drivers all being equal of course lol.
of course the GTO beats everything… it’s the best car ever in every way… 96mpg, sub-6 second quarter-mile, and the exhaust gases cure cancer AND aids…
