GTR

2k will buy you a bigger turbo…and unless you upgrade intake and exhaust you’ll be hard pressed to take out a stock GT-R.

So then you’ll need after to dip into intercooler, radiator, piping and electronic work from there.

By the time you’re finished you may well still be under the price tag for a decent GT-R if you’re a smart parts buyer.

…but then you’ve created a RWD machine that can beat a 4WD car in certain places.

They’re two different beasts all together.

EDIT Typhoon, the Im sure I spotted a 180sx in the background of FF3 somewhere…its got a little holleywouldbe fame…so I mean…it’s bound to go a little faster on that!

I hear godzilla ecu’s comes with 2 buttons. 1 for stock, other for the-ultra-godzilla-mode where car basically turns into a mechanical godzilla that literally eats away the competition.

“But buy one 180SX, put about 2000 (1/4 the price of another 180SX) and you will have a car that beats most of the GT-R’s in alberta, modified or not”

My sentiments exactly.

its like a screw on the side of the ecu you can turn to get more power … .a little known fact about the godzilla
k i did this…but i think i turned it to far…

hahaha wicckkkeeddd

Super HICAS never came out untill the R33’s.
umm are u serious…and its hydraulically controlled…u can find the same system in the z32, 180, s13,gts-t…etc…but they say it wokrs the best with the awd…and its only like 2degrees of steering so…

I can’t believe what i’m reading, and on a nissan fourm at that…its like going to a chevy fourm and reading, “sure a vette is fast, but if i sink 2g’s into my cobalt ss i’ll smoke every vette in town!”…i mean common! I love my S14, but i would never consider it even in the same leauge as a GTR…rwd is fun, and if drifting is your thing then your better off buying two S13’s, but that doesn’t mean its a better car. You get what you pay for! I’ll never sell my 240, but i want a GTR like yesterday…maybe if i manage to sell my ralliart i’ll buy one…meh…

inline 6 TT vs 4 cyl turbo… aren’t we comparing apples and oranges here… doesn’t it really boil down to preference and style of car you want to drive?

exactly! There is no one “supercar” that will win in every category.

Some people buy cars for top speed, some for acceleration, some for handling, some for safety, some for brand image, some for price, etc.

I think people are confusing basic modifications and under rated.
an under rated car would be a bone stock car that lays down more power to the wheels then what the manufacturer reports. Never will a stock gtr lay down more then 280hp to the wheels.

If you retune the ecu, change the exhaust you no longer have a stock car.

Keep in mind though, the car is actually underrated if it lays down 280 WHP because manufacturers report flywheel horsepower, not the actual power that reaches the ground. If they claim 276 (which is BS, I know) and then lay down 280 at the wheels, they’re obviously sandbagging the real number.

I don’t think that’s much of a surprise to anyone though. Anyone here believe the Supra or RX-7 lay down exactly the same number as a GT-R? I don’t!

ummm i have yet to see a stock gtr lay down 280 at hte wheels…i seem to remember a certain gtr putting down 200 to the wheels at the necc dyno day…

wow there must be something wrong there

i know a guy who put down 256whp on a fresh rebuilt gtr. (that’s with intake mods but all else was stock). thats probably accurate to expect. no way will a bone stock gtr make 280whp. its all rated at the flywheel.

What about a R33 or R34? I know we’re only really talking about the R32, but anyone ever see proof of a later model gtr pushing over 280 bone stock?

Hmmmm,

A newer car with the same engine, SAME EXACT ENGINE, will not put more power down. Unless you are talking about the NEO or N1 versions

neo was only the rb25 gtt engine
n1 puts down no more power stock but can go higher due to metal t28’s
but yeah same engine haha

haha i know who’s this is :stuck_out_tongue:
and i agree as no one has put down 280 atw

280 atw stock. i put down 294

ummm NEO RB25 is not TT Icydude its just a better engine than the R33 RB25… and it is a RB26 Rob

He’s no saying GTT means its twin turbo’d.

Gtt is the code for r34 non GTR turbo. They called it a GT-T instead of a GTS-t.
