I hope there were lots of uptight christian conservatives there with a look of horror on their faces trying to cover their kids ears. Because we all know pot is the devil. I know for a fact my alcoholic father had to down the better part of a fifth when he caught me smoking pot when I was 14, he had to settle his nerves before he had the “pot is the devil weed” speech with me. not saying it is the devil, but lighting up on stage and encouraging others to do something illegal and not seeming to care at all if it is illegal is not the kind of values I plan on teaching my kids.

And we encourage that all the time here on Pittspeed. We dont care that its illegal, and its much more likely to get you/someone else hurt or killed.
But morally, people see smoking pot as “bad”, which troubles me. Because most of those people have no problem with people drinking, simply because drinking is legal. Pot is scientifically proven to be MANY times less damaging to the body than alcohol, and it creates far less social problems (i.e. potsmokers dont get all high and pick fights at a bar or beat up his wife). So the main reason that pot is illegal is because of the illegality itself, and people only keep it illegal BECAUSE they think its bad. Such a frustrating cycle.
Right. If it were legal, then people wouldn’t have to sell it on the street and less crime would occur in the distribution of it. I am not opposed to legalizing it, but as it stands, it’s not legal, and poeple get killed, robbed, and beaten up in the attempt to distribute it. Cops get killed trying to enforce the current laws. And Snoop being on stage encouraging people to freely do it in public doesn’t sit well with me for some reason.

I am glad that you can speak for the black race…seeing that your Caucasian I am sure you understand why Black youths can’t distinguise the difference between right and wrong…Were just a race of law breaking dysfunctional people and its all due to our misplaced idolization of Hip Hop artist like Snoop Doggy Dog.Matter of fact I think I’ll go rob someone right now(thats my Pittseed response…now heres what i really think)…but you know what you are a 100% right about BET…it does glorify that BS lifestyle and black or white if you dont have any guidance from home,you will buy into that as being reality. Another thing that you may not know is that the Black population in Pittsburgh is the most ignorant group of Black people I’ve every seen in my life and I can understand why whites in this city have come to the conclusion that all blacks here are nothing more than misguided Law breaking assholes…because quite honestly in Pittsburgh they are…Not being from here and being Black I can say that…I am ashamed of the blacks in this city…but to let you know there are many African Americans that donot live or condone the lifestyle you see glamorized on BET…If you guys want to talk seriously about this stuff feel free to ask me…anything you may not understand about the Black race or society…I would be happy to disguise it with you…
