iām guessin these coments were in response to my post. First off i would like to say that iām not that naieve to believe all blacks are criminals. My best friend is black and from tha hill. He moved to Charlotte cause of the way things are in pittsburgh. But when have people had enough? Bill cosby has had enough but yet heās gettin chastized for his comments. Iām done buying into the whole āsociety is against usā The people that wanna do better for themselves are already doing it. Its the people that have had it handed to them their whole thing that they are owed more an more.
Pittsburgh is a freakin war zone this summer. Iām just tired of things. Iāve been victimized atleast once that i know of from a black male, my friend has been too. Who wants a gun put to their head just cause someone wants their car? Gang types, black and white, have intimidated citizens and police in this city long enough. Downtown is a freaking dump and no one want to go there because you have the people that live off the system hanging out doing nothing but causeing trouble. Blacks leaders are right, things in this country are not equal. If you are a hard working black you have every advantage, there are so many programs to take advantage of. If you are white, you can struggle and there are no organizations to pick you up. How is affirmitaive action fair? how is the united negro college fund fair? they cry to be equal but yet separate them selves by saying African- American. As far as iām concerned if you are born here you are american, black, white brown, red, yellowā¦Whatever!!!
Iām guilty of one thing, treating people how they dress. i donāt judge on skin color. you present an image with your clothes, your speech, your attitude. From what i got from you jay, you are just as hard working as the next guy. I could go on forever. I wish things to be fixed in this country but being white and trying to address a problem usually gets you labeled a racist.

I dont know about that more oppruntunity thingā¦from the inside looking out I can tell you those fabolous oppruntunities you hear about are non existingā¦The situation has definelity change over timeā¦now there is a lot of class discrimination rather than raceā¦but if you feel like I have abetter chance then youā¦I am sorry you feel like that but basically thats simply not trueā¦Not saying because your white you have more of a chance but in certain situations especially in Pittsburgh where the black population has made itself nonproductiveā¦you do have a greater chanceā¦why do you think you boy leftā¦because he had some senseā¦this city is not a good place for ethnic groupsā¦Its very traditional White Americaā¦but there so many aspects of this stuffā¦it hard to say it all but its good to hear others thoughtsā¦
Dude. You are wrong!!! It happens where I work all the time. Managers even come out and say that our minority numbers are low and we have to promote a minority. There are Govt regulations that stipulate that you have to have a certain % of your management comprised of minorities or you will not be eligible for Govt loans, contracts etc. So how can you say there is no affirmative action?
the problem is that a lifestyle of ābeing ghettoā is promotedā¦ and worse is that itās what society and the media tell black youth they should be. Look at BET. While the idea of a black network is seperatist as it is, they spend all of their time promoting āghetto cultureā. How about doing shows on successful black men and women? Why not do a show on Alan Keyes? Or Barack Obama? Or Richard Parsons, CEO of TimeWarner? Or how about Oprah? Thatās immense success if Iāve ever seen it.
As sad as it is to say it, even though racist acts are less common, many whites are still uncomfortable around blacks. The media promotes a de facto segregation, and until that changes things will always be the way they are.
There are a lot of black people I donāt likeā¦I was mugged by two of themā¦ but the fact they are black isnāt why I hate them. There are just as many whites I hate for the same reason. Itās the idea that being āghettoā is something to aspire toā¦ and it really sucks that most white people use the examples set by a minority of black people as their image of all black people.
