AR15 doesn’t pack punch. In assault stuff, that’s effectively cheap and fits your requests go with something in 7.62. Ak47, or AR10(7.62/.308 rounds). Both can be modded, are cheap(in the gun world) and can be bought all over the place.

Look at an AR10 from DPMS, can build to suit. Cost is fair for their quality.

Want bigger stopping power than that…just buy an AR15 lower/stock and add on a Beowolf .50 call conversion upper. Don’t expect it to be accurate past 150yrds as you’re just shooting pistol(desert eagle) type .50 ammo, but it’ll put a BIG fucking hole in whatever you end up hitting.

Don’t know where the home defense/shotty stuff came up. He never mentioned looking for it on that level. If you know how to shoot, an Ar15 is just fine as a home defense weapon as any. 30 rds of .556 will do just as much damage as any other gun. Only major benefit of a shotgun with buck in it in this case would be you NOT killing your neighbor if you missed the perp and put a few rounds through your walls and into their house.
