I have a set of gun rack in my garage and I would like to put them in my truck. Now Before the obvious is point out. The racks themselves I know are legal.
My question is, Can I have a gun in it legally?
I just want to keep my .22 in there.
Trigger lock, not loaded, clip and ammo in the glove box.
Last time I was pulled over I ask the cop. He was not so friendly and wanted to give me 4 tickets and not let me leave without a DOT helmet.
Needles to say. I got no answer.
This post is hilarious because it sounds like he wanted you to wear a helmet while driving your truck, or you want to put a gun rack on your motorcycle.
Ammo must be stored in a different compartment than the weapon, and the glove box does not count. So if you have a truck, the ammo has to be in the bed, or under the hood, I know the last one isn’t to practical, so I guess you might wana get a water tight box for the ammo. Of course, if you want the gun rack, then I know you MUST have a bed box already in it, along with truck nuts
It is legal as long as the gun is not loaded. As far as storage of the ammo I am not sure on that, storage in another compartment? I believe as long as the weapon is not loaded and no ammo in a cartridge he should be fine. The better question is why you would want to leave a gun in a vehicle unaatended?
