Having one paypal account and one “purchaser” in charge of this is an issue. Reason being technically that guy in charge would be selling the ammo to you which would be illegal in nys now.
so, the way around it is, buyer just uses the ship to address of the joint mailbox, bill to is the lawful owner of the ammo. If the supplier wants to be douchebags about the miss match they dont deserve the business. If they raise a stink tell them you’re shipping it to your hunting cabin or something AND have them show you their policy in writing supporting their refusal of sale.
As far as I know It is not illegal for us to sell ammo within us . Like kk can sell me ammo etc and it’s ok . As I need some 9mm and 7mm for the German Mauser
That was pre-Safe Act. I’m really curious as to how he got 8 years for it. They call him a gun dealer, I’m assuming they meant an illegal one as in selling guns to criminals and such.
law on ammo says it’s for “commercially sold ammo”. Must be person to person, no internet sales, only though an authorized dealer (ffl 4 irc) that is registered with the state, must pass nys bcg when applicable.
Selling a few boxes to a friend because you no longer have a gun to shoot that type through, not going to have a problem. Moving thousands of rounds like the idea is here… that’s a decent amount of money moving hands, its like selling 50 cars off your front lawn, someone (nys) will be pissed because you’re not a dealer and go after you.
Bill the order to the owner, ship to the joint owned box. If any money is exchanged (gas money and such) it has nothing to do with the sale of ammo, its travel expenses for private party reasons.
and how was that sale illegal? Presafe act like you all said. Person to person sales didnt require a bcg. I love how there is literally ZERO description to the article.
yeah but the details dont fit the adjenda and wont ever make it to the press.
You have to be a complete retard to get caught back then IMO. Like owning/selling a weapon when you are a convicted felon. Probably the case here. They were watching him for other reasons I am sure, saw the sale take place and knew he wasnt a lawfull owner and busted him. Thats about the only way back then you could get fucked “out of the blue” like that.
Well it looks like a collapsible stock on it (unless pinned, can’t verify from pics), mags may not have been pre-ban, looks like a bayonet lug and flash hider as well. YHM didn’t make rifles before 1994 IIRC, so it’s not a pre-ban rifle either.
I picked up a 10/22 friday. Befor I even got it I ordered the Cobalt blue, Terminator laminated stock from StockysStocks, should be here in 2-3 weeks. Picked up a cheap Bushnell Banner 3-9X40 for $70 from a local shop (overkill i know but for the price and how good it looked throught the glass it was the best deal there), along with a rail and mid height Weaver aluminum rings to mount it. Went home, drilled and tapped the reciever back out, put a rail on it and mounted the scope. the 40 and the mid height rings put the appature like 3mm from the barrel after I removed the rear sight. Its as low as it can be and even with the stock stock it is fine to check and shoot. withthe higher cheekwell on the laminated stock I think it will be perfect. Its about the same height as my buddys 10/22 with his Revolution Extreme thumbhole so it should be good.
Shot it this weekend with my little sister, her first time at the range. She loved it and had a blast. I put a nice .25 cent dia group of 5 down 65yards with in the first 10 shots.
Speaking of first time shooters, she shot her boyfriends 20ga a bunch in the past, and his 22, but that was all she fired. I brought my AR and gave her a run down on it and she put the first 10 through and had a big smile on her face! a few mins later she was loading her own mags, slammin them in, droppin the bolt and blasting away on her own. Im very proud of her, she got the hang of it fast, made sure it was on safe and mag out, chamber clear and on the bench when not in use or someone was going down to place a new target. It felt good to bring a new shooter for the most part to the range and see them catch on so fast and accuratly.
ill post a few pics later on when the stock comes in for the 10/22
Did my first trigger job last night on the 10/22 i bought. Stock trigger pull was very inconsistent on the pull, 5-3/4 - 6-1/4 lb pull on the cheap tester. I polished it first with 3 hones, a diamond hone then black rouge on a felt wheel/diegrinder. Lubed and put back in, 5lb to 5-1/4lb pull now.
Then i worked the hammer. Stoned down the engagement and radius a touch. Put it back together, 3-1/2lb pull now, still a perfectly crisp release too. Took a touch more off and got it to 3lbs on the nose, perfect feel and 100% consistent 3lb disconnect for 20+ tests. Decided not to press my luck any farther until i get to fire it and make sure it doesn’t bump fire or go full auto.
Polished the bolt on the friction surfaces and it slides like butter now. Next on the list is making a charging knob because the stock one is no fun to pull with the scope knob right there you can’t pull it from the top anymore and its too small and puts some crooked leverage pulling it from the side with one finger tip.
Dont go posting about buying a gun from someone when you didnt go through an FFL, especilly in the public form, and double that againt one of my best friends. Be smart about this shit.
Oh and dont ever let me hear about you taking a dremel to a trigger ever again. Ever. Buffer wheel or not, it rounds sears edges and is beyond inconsistent. Learn to do it right with proper equipment or leave it to those that do. Dangerous triggers are not hard to create with your methods and will hurt you or ithers when you leadt expect it.
Did the safeact stop private sales on all rifles? Not being a dick here, I didn’t remember seeing something about not being able to privately sell a regular old firearm that’s not an “AW” or a handgun. If there was well I guess I have to read up on it.
And I am not an idiot Adam. Of all the people to attempt something technical like this for the first time, I hoped you had a little more assumption that I wouldn’t be a Skidplate behind the item. I spent probably 30 hours at work researching the job, and I am not talking youtube bumpkins posting videos. And while this is my first trigger, its not my first time acquiring the skills each process utilizes.
If you want to get technical, I used 5 hand hones up to 1k grit, surface finish and edges were razorblade mint. My diamond hone next, followed by a piece of glass with wd40 soaked 1800,2000,2400,3k paper, then a 3" dia loose cotton wheel to barely kiss the surfaces to final polish them… the flat surfaces. Around the sears, that was done with precision files and that’s it. Total job took me 5hrs, so you can gauge how aggressive my arms were hammering away at the precision surfaces. I wouldn’t take a 3/16’’ dia hard as a rock felt bob and 30krpm to the side of a valve seat to “polish” them so why do you think I would be retarded enough to do it to the most important part on a firearm?
I did the very best I could, with the equipment I had… and it works perfectly fine. If I didn’t care about the rifle I would cock it and drag it behind my car down the road and I put money on it wouldn’t have fired.
