Yes, they are hassling people a week early right now if you dont have a passport or a birth certificate. The USA started it, but the canadian side is doing it now with a vengence to try and get back at us. it wasnt supposed to start until Jan 31st.
Besides that, I am getting tired of justifying my existance to those cocksuckers every time I cross the invisible fucking line. Doing their job? fuck them. Try doing it without the cocky “I am better than you because I have a badge” attitude.

Not sure if i told you Dan but last time i went to BC i had an big problem at the border. I didnt have my birth certificate and the guy would not let me cross back into the US. I had my military id with me but he was being a complete cock fuck and very rude for no reason. He eventually let me go after speaking on the phone with my company commander and 4 hours of my time was wasted. During the four hours he had me sit in a detainee room and kept coming in and basically saying all types of rude things to me. I was so mad i got his info and reported him as soon as i got home. They responded that i should have been aware of the rules and he was doing his job. This was like 11 months ago too.
I’m probably going to wait until I get my passport to go to Canadia next. However, even if you don’t get hassled at the booth, sitting in your car idling on/before the bridge for 1-2 hours is awful, especially when you just want to get home after a weekend away.
Had 5 people in the car and they didnt even check out ID’s… WAS AN AMAZING SHOW THOUGH!
