This past weekend Fri through today (Sunday) was a huge VW/Audi car show in Ocean City, Maryland. AMD IS THE BEST, SullyVR4, GermanPSI, MK4 30R, and myself cruised down in the S4 and GTI and LKSwhy, 30r_logik, and BIG RED too BIG RED’s MK2 down.
It was my first major car show and first time i’ve been around so many VW’s and Audi’s. I never realized how much loot these people put on the looks of their cars…i.e, Bentley wheels, Benz ///AMG wheels, Maybach wheels, various high dollar wheels on these cars. :bowdown
Despite the shitty weather hundreds, maybe thousands, of these guys were cruising the main strip all night Saturday after the “Big Ass BBQ” pre-show party, as well as everyone showing up to the show today(Sunday) despite the on and off rainy weather. Here’s some pics from VW Vortex, AMD IS THE BEST has some pics also that I took on the way/on the way home as well as one’s he took at the show…
the big hitters were there. rain or shine man. the “top dawg” award this year was a joke. the R32 turbo swapped black mk3 gti should have gotten it. Jeff Bynums red mica pearl mk2 vR was spot on… last year Jeffs father took top honors, this year he had the white mk2 VR6 SC with the fittipaldis on it
Who won? I thought the black mk3 had it for sure? A highlight for me were meeting the owner of APR. He was a really laid back guy, you could really tell he cared about the business and the customers. Also, meeting the 75 year old guy who owned a 1.8t swapped mk2 and hearing him talk about it was awesome :lol
“Jet” is a cool cat. i talked with him, jeff and wayne bynum for a bit. i talk to them on vortex from time to time to see what kind of projects they have rolling around. i got to take a seat in that car and feel the shifter… i know whats next for my car… he told me the 1.8t is the daily driver and when he takes his girlfriend out, he takes his mk3 VR6 because it has AC( his wife passed away last year, hence girlfriend)
What was up with that cream colored rabbit? Dave and I talked to him at Dunkin Donuts for a minute and I saw him heading in with the rest of the Top Dawgs, but I never got a chance to check it out.
