Hankook vs Kumho

I know both of these brands are pretty crappy but anybody ever run a set of Hankooks? Need some tires for the G35 and these are the cheapest ones I can find in 225/40R19 and 245/40R19. Any opinions on which is better or are they basically the same?

hankook ventus tires have been impressing me. have put a few sets on customers cars. have held up and performed just as well as some higher priced tires. i wouldnt be afraid of using them.

i ran Kuhmo Ecstas on my ws6, my 05 SS and now on my new SS. they hold up to abuse and offer decent traction (tho not out-of-this-world performance by any means). dunno what thats worth to you, but i feel for the price, they are worth it. but i go through tires like crazy cause i drive alot. if it were different, id probly buy something a little better

Hankook make damn good steer tires for big trucks. no idea about cars.

Cum Hoes (kumho) is what I’ve been running the past few years.

SPT for the summer
ASX all season

The lack of quality from Kumho was restricted to their entry level and first run tires, and is in the past…don’t know where you got that opinion. Kumho makes excellent tires for the money in all categories now, and Hankook makes great R-compound tires, but their street tires leave a bit to be desired.

Take a look at the Kumho AST, ASX, and the MX if you want a cost efficient summer tire. Another tire to look at are the Falken Ziex 912, cheap and performs decently. Being on 18’s your prices are obviously going to be pretty high, but Tirerack, DiscountTire Direct, and Vulcan Tire have great deals on the above.

I recently just put 315/30/18 's hankook ventus rs2’s on the back of my mustang. For the price that i paid i cant complain.

I ran Hankook 215/35/18 for 3 summers and they wore nice and slow. The only reason I swapped out was because 1 had real bad camber wear and another was ran flat for too many miles. There was still tons of tread pushing 25k miles on them.

I just went with some Sunew 225/40/18 eBay specials and will see how well they last.

great tire.

i run hankook winter tires… the Hankook iPike great winter traction IMO
