Is Hankook legit?

So very first thing I want to do is get different tires on the TL. It has ‘LingLong’ 235/45-17 currently. While they look fairly new, I have little faith in a Chinese tire. That being said I want to find a decent summer tire, and Hankook seems to have decent reviews… Does anyone here actually run them? I am thinking of going to a 255/40R-17 Hankook Ventus HRII H405. If they are garbage, suggest something else please. I may just spend the extra and get Nitto 555 as I have Nitto on my Civic, and love them.

Only used them for Autox.

I run H727 all seasons on the G6, awesome tire.

I love my hankooks. Im running the Hankook ventus st rh06 all season on my TBSS right now. My last set were nitto 420S all seasons and although i liked those too they wore out way to fast. I’ve had the hankooks now for about 20k miles and they look way better than the nitto’s did at 20k. At 20k is pretty much when i replaced the nitto’s. I know these are street truck tires but I have also recommened hankooks to two of my buddies. One with a 08 civic si and the other with a cobalt ss/sc. The one with the civic is running the Hankook v12 Evo summer tires which he said he loves way better than his previous falkens. My other buddy with the cobalt is running hankook ventus v4 es H105 which he also likes better than his previous coopers. At the end of the day IMO they are a great inexpensive tire and seem to have many great reviews ranging from a wide variety of different cars which sport them. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

give me linglongs for to burn

hankook RSII in their hay-day were a solid summer tire.

I run them in 315 on the rear, but I don’t hook well with them. :rofl

Hankooks are garbage, they were bald before I even got them…

Used to have them on my old 18’s for my Mustang. Not a bad tire at all. 255’s up front 275’s in the rear. When I sold them I told the lady they were Hankook tires and she started laughing out loud at me and said " I think you mean Hancock tires". Facepalm moment.

Yea I know cool story brah

“That’s 'cause I been drinking, bitch!”

depends on the tire and use they all have there plus and minuses like any tire brand.

too many horzepowrz

For daily driver use they are terrific for the price. My dad switched from BFG to Hancook on his 86 Chevy Van, my mom’s Plymouth Acclaim, and later on her Chevy Lumina. The Hancooks provided great performance and longevity on all of those vehicles. All of which were all season tires and myself at the age of 17 pushed the limits of all stated vehicles both pre and post tire change.

General tires are not a bad choice for daily driving either. I know I as well as others loved the recently discontinued Exclaim UHPs. They don’t claim to be an all season tire but as long as you have decent tread depth I felt they were pretty safe in light snow.

the rs3 and v12 are great tires, or continental extreme contact dw is another tire u might look at

Conti extreme dws. All day!

the dws is an all season the dw is a summer tire

That was my plan actually. Make me an offer when I pull them off.

I will check those out too. I wouldnt be opposed to an all season either. I just wondered why the Hankooks were so much cheaper than everything else. Thanks for the quick feedback errybody

Yea. I didn’t know if he was looking for all seasons or summers. I missed that part.
They are both bad ass! We just but the DW’s on my buddy’s 944 Turbo.
And I put DWS’s on Brews TL a while back

I offer to not push you into traffic. GIVE ME NOW

The RS3’s seem to be all the rage lately in the sport compact scene.

I run the previously mentioned (recently discontinued) General Exclaim UHP. I ran them in some very heavy snow and they were great for what they were…a summer tire.
