Not sure where to put this but mods feel free to move:
Background
My car needs this to see an open track one of these days, and thanks to RSS feeds / craigslist / crazedlist / and last but not least, Vlad himself backing out on this deal, I found myself a cheap ($280) way to get the car “legit”… (Now, for the driver, maybe after I spend $280 on liqs and lap dances I can get smooth enough behind the wheel)
But I digress…
Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the Hard Dog Hard Bar! (applause)
(here photographed in its glory upon pickup in Brooklyn)
Took it home… Now seats gotta go!
So does a bunch of rear carpet, a metal plate, and noise deadening shite from behind “the office”
Peep the fresh interior!
Need clearance for bar = Break out Aviation snips
Terrible job on driver side
followed by
similar botched attempt on passenger side
It’s all good now though ;D
Test fit (and I lifted it myself without scraping the paint = manly :banana)
From outside the car = :giggedy :giggedy :banana :banana
Gotta have new shiny NUTZ, no rusted out brown $hit stained ball stuff for this thang right here…
Remove lower splash shields to make room
Drill through the body
Makin’ some more holes
Time to break out the Ron Jeremy 12" Dong on the Drilly
It ain’t for show, you need that 12" Play to go deep… Ask R Kelly (after his trial)
From under the car
Lookin’ solid
Bar In without metal parcel shelf dealo
Interference with metal parcel shelf = Aviation Snips part II
Sliding in the parcel shelf after cuttin’
Nice arcs here after some practice with the snips (and sobering up helps too?!)
A few more cuts and… It’s all good now
Back under the car…
Hit the holes with some undercoat AKA “thug juice”
Looks bad… Yet seals good, just like a nice piece of ponani
Now!! Time to hit the interior panels to make more room
15 minutes with the Dremel and the snips per side and it’s lookin’ like a nice fit…
The cleanest you’ll ever see my interior
Except for this shot possibly?
Bar’s in. That’s it (for now). Peace.
EDIT:
Now that the bar’s in, I need lateral support too for this fat a$$
(after whoring myself out… Two jars of Vaseline later… FINALLY scrimped the $75 together for the passenger bracket)
Eenie meenie minie moe… Which seat has the most butt cheek support??
ANSWER: The Green Ikea One (note custom molding for that a$$)
Here’s what it looks like installed:
Starting to look more purposeful
This is what the competition** sees… All day biiooootches!!!
** = anything four wheeled with less than 90 hp (basically only Yugos need apply)
Chillin’ at home
