hey guys, it isn’t my 240 but my cousin’s Bmw 328is. From what he told me, he did a short burnout in 1st gear and after that it’s been hard to put into any gear without some force but it’s not all the time that it occurs. Like the synchros are messed or something, any ideas or input to what might be the issue?
Seems as if the clutch isn’t fully disengaging. My car had the same problem, bleeding it didn’t help since mine wasn’t a hydraulic problem. My pressure plate was not functioning correctly.
When forced into first gear with the clutch fully down, does the car want to move forwards slightly? If yes, your clutch isn’t fully disengaging. Rev match and shift slowly, otherwise you’ll wear your synchros out FAST under this condition.
If it won’t go into first from a stop, force it in, just once everytime you start your car, but once you get moving, develop the habit of shifting into first gear when you’re at about 5 km/h. It should pop in with no problems, and then just keep your clutch to the floor until the light turns green. I had to do this for 2 months. lol
