hey guys. got a question for the techs out there. is there a way to differ between the two s13 harnesses, blacktop and redtop? reason being is cuz i cant get my sr swap to turn over. im useing a blacktop engine, redtop ecu, and hopeing the harness is also a redtop. this is just the way the swap came. i cannot get the injectors to pulse. have full spark and fuel pressure, but injectors are getting no signal. thanks any help would be nice.
depends on what black-top your talking about. There are 4 possibilities of black top’s
its a s13 blacktop. no notch back, fins on the head
still depends as there was a type x black top s13 too
But it should be no problem if you don’t have a type-x.
Pull the ECU for codes
codes wont pull shit for a cranking issue. That problem lies in your lower harness. Your start switched power isnt getting to the starter solanoid. Jump the solanoid with 12V to see if its a sterter problem then if it works you have a lower harness issue.
People say ecu’s and harnesses are the same but I worked on a black top eng and had pin out issues. Way different and I has to swap the pins from factory locations for it to run. So I have mixed issues with that aswell. The people that sell engines should sell you the engine conversion with origonal parts to the engine so you shouldnt have any problems there anyways unless the shop that sold it to you hybred a bunch of shit to sell a engine set.
its all good! fixed the problem. it wasnt a cranking issue in the first place, it was the injectors not getting a signal, not pulsing at all. ended up being the ecu backup power wasnt conected where the harness was cut. friggin gay cut harness. oh well its rippin now.
