i actually had someone make a hit list and i was number one on the list. i went right to the police station talked to the internet/harassment detective. next day they arrested the kid. found out the kid was in three of my college classes…
def call the police or go to the station and talk directly to the detective. it cost me nothing to do so. i got reimbursed the day of work that i missed to go to court.

You would be suprised what bigger websites will give up about someone once you get a police report on an issue that took place on their service.
police for sure bro, they always take this shit serious as hell, a guy that did some work on my house (worked for a very popular company so i wont name it on here) was stalking my wife after his work was finished. He followed her all the time in his work truck, and called her cell a few times at 1-2 a.m. she was smart enough to get enough info on his truck# plate number# and we called the sheriffs. the next morning he was on the side of our road pretending to be working. I walked right up to his truck and punched him through the driver window. Sheriffs arrested him a few minutes later.
When he told the sheriff i blasted him in the mouth the sheriff replied “wtf did you expect to happen STFU”
i havent read all the responses here so maybe someone said this already; more than just calling the police, try to get right through to cyber crime.
i had a friend with the local police and he gave me a direct e-mail to thier cyber crime guy a few years back. It’s much easier than calling through to a desk person who may or may not care about your issue.
perhaps there is someone on here that is either a police officer or can connect you with how to get a more direct line into who you need to speak with.
this is the kind of thing that people are not and should not take lightly so address immediately.
She’s 18 dude get her a semi auto .410 and teach her to shoot. Techer her to be observe situations and local cars around.
I love how arming yourself is such a common response. I do agree with the awareness, things to look for, and observing surroundings part but teaching her to shoot a .410 doesn’t seem like a practical approach.
A) Most people leave their guns locked up in a case and unloaded. If an attacker were to enter the house, she would have a matter of seconds to run to the safe, enter the pin, load the gun, and then determine what was going on.
B) if she was out walking around with a handgun, knife, pepper spray, etc.,chances are she would still not have the proper skills to address situations, ready the weapon and prepare for a defense of an attacker as most people don’t say “HEY IM COMING FOR YOU” and run at you from a long way away.
C) Few people have what it takes to cock a gun and be ready to open fire at another human in a situation, esp a high pressure one involving an attacker coming after them directly and her only being 18.
In all honesty, open a case with the police. Work with them to get the case brought up to the proper people. Don’t take it into your own hands as 9/10 times it will work out against you.

Really? I’m sure there is a few people on here that have woken up to a random noise or dogs going off and had a the home defence weapon ready. To each there own. I would call 911, you will get a way more serious responce than a casual call to the locals or state troopers.
I wouldn’t call the police I would actually go to the station or depending on town the local State Trooper sub station. Either way get help for her.
You should post asking for advice on NYspeed. Then, you should go to a rape survivors forum asking for car advice.

This why guns safes are really useless, Unless you spend big money on one. Gun stay next to the bed, full magazine, one in the chamber ready to rock. If someone try to come in your ready to go.
Pepperspray is not illeagal and can be bought at gander moutian or other outdoor stores.
To pull the trigger, if someone is in your house. Shut the room door your in. Start yelling your armed, if they come closer you will shoot. you here steps outside your door, shoot at it. The shot alone will scare the living shit out of anyone on the other side, if their not hit.
Thanks for the…interesting responses. Calling the police was the first thing we did, she met with them last night. I didn’t think about asking to go to a cyber crimes unit, however. I got her a can of pepper spray, print screened/printed out the facebook messages and changed her number yesterday.
