You know it is super easy to put the TOB in 90° out in a BMW… and have it feel like the clutch won’t engage…
the TOB was in there correct…
sitting with the TOB tabs on the 12/6 oclock position,
just like this picture
even in this picture, it looks like there is ALWAYs going to be some back and forth play in there which would be taken up once the clutch cyl is inserted
kk, just checking. Even I have been mistaken from time to time. Never wrong though, never.
new flywheel come in?
Still no joy
New pp is in and installed, bolted the trans back up and immediatly noticed that all the play in the release fork was gone, bled the system cleared my codes an tried the adaptations only to have it fail again, I then changed out my master cyl to see if that was the issue, then I noticed that all the play was back, at this point I’m pretty sure that the clutch release pivot pin and spring are Doa and causing the shift fork to work itself loose, only thing I can think of at this point… I’m gonna pull it again tommoorow and try to find a new pin/spring asap
Damn man that sucks. Wouldn’t be as bad if you had a lift but for doing all of this on the floor I give you a lot of credit.
Wow I hate when installations go this way.
Take a deep breath and finish trucking through it.
Good Luck!
If you find that the spring that holds the fork to the pivot has popped off i would check to make sure the back side of the pivot ball isnt worn causing it to pop off.probably not worn but it doesnt hurt to check. Also the spring tension maybe weak also.
