I finally got around to putting down the epoxy. I went with epoxy-coat.com brand and love it!
Ummmm, No electric?
Garage looks amazing. Great tip by Ieatpaint on the plastic bag moisture issue too.
Looks real good Dave. Is there only one option on the website? All I see is the 100% solids stuff, was that it? Did you pour it on and squeegee it around? Did you prime, 2 coat with flake on the final coat? Just asking because that’s how we sell our 100% solids.
Need to do epoxy first as temperature would of bee all messed up if i waited. I can do electrical after floor was done. Floor was most important at the time.
Yes only 1 option 100% Solid. Yes Poured it out and Squeeged/cut in the edges:
I prepped the floor like 4x over as i did not want anything to go wrong. I used the chemical mixture included in the kit and washed the floor down like 3 times and let the concrete dry for like 3 day then i mixed the hardener with the gray color epoxy. and then pured it out on the concrete then cut the corners in, squeezed it out then went over it agian with a roller which was the best affect.
I only did 1 coat as it was very thick! but you can do multiple coats.
Single Coat with Flake when the epoxy was setting.
Word to the wise have spiked shoes for this application as this stuff is no joke when it comes in contact with anything you dont want to throw out.
Amen to the spike shoes, they’re a life saver when you’re spreading flake or have a miss. Pretty cool that it’s self-priming too.
Edit: The floors in the entrance of the First Niagara center are my 100% solids clear to give you an idea of how durable it should be for you.
Just out of curiosity, how much does a garage like that cost to build from scratch? That is kind of a relatively near future goal of mine, so it would be good to plan a budget for it. You can PM me if you’d like!

x2
How big is it? I know you said 720sq/ft…
36x20?
30x24 seems more likely…
and also x2 about the electric.
You doing electric on the outside of the drywall?
Looks great though.
4’ footers I imagine?
4" or 6" slab?
Hahaha… that’s awesome. I wish the concrete in my garage was in good enough shape to do something like this. Probably a bad idea since I’ve got two salt covered DD’s going in an out all winter though even if the concrete was good.
Floor looks great! Cannot wait to build my dream garage this spring or summer.
Our floor epoxies get tested with nail polish remover, ammonia, 33% & 77% sulfuric acid, gasoline, etc etc. A little car salt isn’t going to do too much damage lol.
Pm sent
24x30ft 6in slab will be accommodating for a lift when money allows
It’s chemical resistance salts got nothing over it lol
