Head gasket?

I have a 1997 Cadillac SLS with about 120k on it, I recently noticed it’s been slowly leaking something but haven’t had time to check it out. The other day I start the car and the message center says “CHECK COOLANT LEVEL”, I’m afraid the head gasket is getting ready to go, somebody please tell me it’s not that. Also the car has never ran hot, more than half way between Cold and Hot.

intake, stupid crossover pipe under motor, or waterpump

Coolant sensor most likely.

Why would you think headgasket?

Is the oil milky or the coolant oily?

I always just assume the worst when something happens to my car I guess and headgasket seems some what common with early Northstars. I haven’t taken a close look at anything yet but there is a wet spot underneath where the engine would be after I park for along time and thats the only thing I’ve noticed except the low coolant message.
