my heat shield that is around my exaust adn i think gas tank or somthing it is falling off on 1 side… do i need it or can i just rip it off … its the metal one that looks like a half circle or rectangle without a bottom… it looks like it speerates the exaust from a pan of some sort
I was told by a dealer that living in buffalo we dont need the heatshields. I guess they are designed for southern states where its hot and dry and the heat from the exhaust could ignite a fire

are you talking about the shield on the tunnel? or around the Cat itself?
The tunnel one is mostly to keep the heat from the exaust away from the floor of the vehicle. so your feet dont burn.
It’ll be fine, just rip it out. Had the same happen on 2 saturns, and my old ranger.
