Bumping this old ass thread up for anyone that is interested as Summer approaches…
yeah so what would central air cost in a 2 story house with no ducts?

Aren’t you completely re-doing your house?
we want central air, we have radiators… how much to convert? hehe
You have no ductwork? so you have a boiler or some other type of hot water heat system?
FYI for all people that have hot water heat or another system that doesn’t use a duct system thru your house…
A/C will be EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE. a 2 story house is difficult, id need to know exact dimensions, but ballpark price would be between 13 and 17k. Yes, that much. And that price will go up in 2006 when a new law goes into effect that changes the minimum efficiency that manufacturers are allowed to product… A/C prices will go up between 8 and 16% on January 23rd, 2006.
13 - 17k? me doing ductwork > that shit… how much is just intalling ac and getting it running?
gotta be cheaper than 13-17k

oh yeah soooo much cheaper
:ugh2: SpacePak? Please… I wouldn’t put a spacepak in my 3 room bungalow I rent out. And if you think its so cheap, go ahead and price it. You’ll come out not laughing. Don’t want to beleive me, fine… But that shit is expensive.
It would be alot less price if you do the ductwork yourself. I can’t give you an exact estimate on a price b/c i need to know dimensions, windows, doors, age, etc… of your house so that I could size the unit properly.
Sizing an AC without knowing the house is like saying “I need an engine for my vehicle” but not knowing what the customer has.
He’s right not seeing the house and not knowing whats involved is impossible and the system wont work correctly from day one and it will end up costing you more money in the end. So do it right the first time.
