Let me start by saying wiring hurts my brain… here goes.
I recently picked up a set of hella 500ff driving lights and mounted them up yesterday. Wiring went fine but I have a question regarding the rocker switch.
Per the instructions,
4 pin relay to:
-Lights
-Ground
-Interior rocker switch
-Batter power (inline fuse)
Rocker switch to:
-Fuse tap with 3amp fuse (I tapped into the radio giving me acc power on the lights. The instructions stated to tap this into the low or high beam wire)
-wire from relay
-ground
My issue is that everything functions as it should, but the rocker switch LED does not illuminate at all. I have tried different grounds, switching the wiring on the rocker, etc… nothing works.
Side note: The wire from the fuse tap to the rocker contained an in-line fuse meant to be used if you tap the headlights, so in essence it has 2 fuses. 1) The fuse tap fuse (3a) and the inline buss fuse. Could this be a factor?
I like auto wiring about as much as rubbing my balls with fiberglass insulation. Going to crack open my flat screen today to take a shot at repair. Let’s see who finishes first. Good luck with yours.
why not tap right into your ignition switch for the acc? wouldnt it be a shorter line from the switch also instead of to your radio?
my guess is to check your line from your relay. check to make sure you are wired up right relay wise. also make sure your relay is good. if it is not opening the switch when the lights come on im assuming its not providing the 12 volts you need.
spacers on the bottom to allow the bumper cover to slide over easily. designed to allow you to pull the bumper cover without taking off the fogs. you just need to fold them forward.
