Swapped in some H4s today. Seem pretty good so far. I ordered them from John (Jammin1911) @ DIG.
They have much higher light output and a noticeably sharper cutoff than what they replaced.
Street signs and overhead signs are 10x brighter than with the old shit, but oncoming traffic isn’t being blinded.
Notice the upper right side of the pics with the overhead tree branch and how it’s lit up by the e-codes compared to the DOT pattern.
The euro-spec beam is also much more evenly distributed in comparison to the hot spots of the DOT units.
And there is zero trace of blue colour with the bulbs I went with, so no glare whatsoever!
Mind you neither set of lights were aimed with a machine so the pattern might still be a little off. I tried to stay to the low side for now until I can aim them properly (on a wall or with a mechanical aimer).
these are really about the housings, they let you use regular h4 bulbs, instead of stupid sealed beam units, bulb life depends on the bulb you choose to run.
This thread is very helpful, especially with the comparison shots. I didn’t wanna go ricer blind you HID, but I wanted better lighting because honestly the stock lighting is terrible (on my car at least…). Now I know what to save up for in the future. Thanks spd-dmn (Mike? iirc from Bing’s meet).
I have to fix my highbeams, the low beams just turn off when I switch on the high’s. I’m pretty sure it’s the selector switch after some searching, sealed beam swapping, and multimeter testing. (NICO ftw!)
