Help me find a mountain bike

well if you want to use it to get in shape i would suggest putting that 70 twards a gym membership because the shit mongoose that a 65 year old retiree built will last you a week. im pretty confident in that i would be able to trash one in 2 hours:biglaugh:

I have a TREK 4500 that I want to sell. Has about 5 miles on it. Bought it 2 years ago thinking I was gonna ride but never got around to it. Has Judy ROK SHOKS in front and I also had them put on and electronic odometer/speedo.

Paid $500…I’ll let it go for $250.

Thing is brand new…mint.

Heres a pic I found on-line…I can take some pics if you want but I guarantee it is in perfect shape. The color is just like the pic…steel/gray/black

Here’s some pics of the actual bike…The only reason I’m trying to sell it is because I don’t ride it. If you’re interested it is $250 firm.

pics are small because I only have 56K slodem at home…

I may be interested, i was going for new cause i was using a CC to buy it but that is a pretty good deal… BTW is that a kick stand? lol

The kickstand is removable…

Yeah i know im just playin! It really is a great deal, its all a matter of having cash in my hand to pay for it.

I can testify. I bought XT-V brakes with the parallel push mechanism and matched XT-V levers the year they were introduced, and they are still my favorite brakes of all time. They are on my beater Kona, and have no intentions of ever changing them.

My newer Kona has cable discs and I am not too thrilled with them. The calipers don’t float correctly, therefore they rub, and the stopping power just isn’t as good as the old XT-Vs.

I haven’t had a chance to play with Hydro discs, but i have had pretty much every other type of ATB brake out there. I had Magura HS-22s (Hydralic rim brake) before my XT-Vs and got really tired of trying to make them work correctly. I was always bleeding them, replacing lines, ordering new brass fittings from the bike shop in the Walker plaza because they were the only place that could order the parts for me…

And don’t even get me started on traditional cantilevers!
