Help Me pick a new truck

Yeah and another + 1 for Dave… i talked to him a week or so ago about a truck for my boss and apparently there are some good deals comming up concerning chevy’s 100th anniversary.

Dude, you can pick up a decently loaded chevy 1/2 ton for SOOO cheap.
I’m talking $23K.
My friend has the same truck and really likes it, the 5.3 litre is plenty enough power.

I’d go with the chevy, after driving both…chevy hands down

im selling my truck, 15,000 on it if youd be intrested… 08 gmc sierra crew cab

badass truck…

BUY A SILVERADO OR A SIERRA. Badass trucks, Gm Employee pricing and 5000 rebate, what else do you need? Do it.

Thanks, but I need to have at least the 6.5’ bed.
I can get the 150 for 24k and the silverado for 23k. Just can’t beat the center counsel shifter on the fx4 though…

if you go ford pm me first

That video is horrible. The guy apparently can’t drive for shit to get in an accident in a parking lot. Not to mention he says the truck is stuck in an inch of snow. My friend and I buried his down to the axles in mud and the thing crawled right out.

Pretty obvious that that guy that posted the video doesn’t take care of his vehicles.

I know your just looking at Chevy’s and Ford’s but the Tundra is an awesome truck.

Back to the topic on hand, I’d go chevy because I’m a Chevy guy at heart but the Ford looks better IMHO.

my boys trunk , no problems at all can rippp a boat out of the water and we got the axls stuck in the swamp and it poped right out, so fare he has had 3 toyotass…

any way my buddy just picked up a new chevy and it goes from a v8 to a 4cyl on the freeway … he gets like 20mpg with a 36 ft boat in tow … go with the chevy

We did a comparison at work between a Tundra with 381hp 5.7 and a Silverado 1500 with 367hp 6.0. Our guys drove them both to Vegas, Death Valley, Pikes Peak, and back with 9800lb gravel trailers.

I have yet to drive the Tundra, maybe next week. I did sit in it though.

Opinions from myself and the drivers at work are as follows:

-Toyota will outrun the Chevrolet, especially uphill. We think its due to the six speed trans in the Toyota whereas the Chevy has a four speed trans. We intend to hook the trailer to a GMC 2500 we have that is equipped with 6.0 and six speed trans and run that against the Toyota and see how they compare.

-Toyota has better brakes.

-Chevrolet has better seats. The Toyota seats lack in side bolstering and seem like they are designed for very fat people.

-Cheverolet has better gauges. The Toyota has gauges four inches down a tunnel making the small ones hard to read,

-Toyota heater controls are too far away from the driver.

-Toyota steering wheel feels like it is an inch to the left of where it should be.

-Toyota has a console shifter. Mixed feelings. Some guys like it. Others prefer the extra console space provided by the Chevy’s column shift. Personally I wouldn’t buy either truck because they aren’t offered with a manual and at this point I refuse to buy a pickup with an automatic.

-Toyota transfer case is slow to shift. Toyota 4x4 only available in electric shift part time. GM 4x4 available [in 1500] in part time manual shift or electric shift active 4x4 with 2H and 4H lock positions

-Toyota is assembled in USA, GM truck is assembled in USA or Mexico.

Man up and get the chevy

Ive been looking into a truck to lately. Mostly just looking at gm but have been thinking about others and been trying to make up my mind on used vs new. And like you said for a couple grand more you can get brand new kinda seems like and easy choice. I plan on going out test driving soon if i do it soon enough ill report back.

I like my ford a lot, 07 f170 w/ 5.4v8
