Throw some suggestions out there! I’m looking for some nice 19"s (stock is 18" so I want to go bigger, but no twankies thanks), I’m thinking more of a “mesh” style wheel since it’s “just” the 250 and has small brakes. I think a really open 5 spoke type design would make the brakes look terrible. Also leaning towards a silver or polished look. I’m not a big chrome fan, and I don’t think the all too popular black wheels would look that good on it since it’s dark blue.
Some TSW’s I can get a really good deal on locally:
The only thing I don’t like about these is they would only be a 19x8 in the front, rather than the 19x8.5 I want. They are 19x9.5 in the back like I want, though about 5mm more offset than I’d like so I might still run a very small spacer.
Another option would be to get some wheel spacers and maybe paint my stock wheels a bit darker (like the '08s have). This is a friend’s car w/ 10/15mm front/rear spacers and stock wheels, I’d go 15/20 I think. BTW, they are bolt-on hub-centric spacers.
Also, the same friend now has “G-Spider” wheels, he’s offered to sell them to me but they’ll need tires in ~6 months so it doesn’t work out that much cheaper than just buying 19"s now, especially since I’d still need to buy the spacers (~$200).
Again, both pics above of my friend’s car are WITH the 10/15 spacers. I’d do 15/20 if I go with stock sized wheels. This car also has Eibach ProKits and I’ll be doing those no matter which wheel I choose. I’ve riden in it and the ride is just a bit firmer than stock, but in a good way. And clearly it looks a helluva lot better.
I agree, don’t waste your money on the junky wheels. Although I do like the look of the BBS-style deep dish wheels, the ebay ones are just crap and the real thing would get pretty expensive. I would go with the G-Spider wheels like PoisonousBeef said above.
I like the OEM G-Spiders too, but they’re stock sizes/offsets so I need spacers with them for the “flush” look, and they still are only 18"s. If the tires on them right now were in better shape I think I’d jump on it in a heartbeat.
I am going to get a few quotes on having the stock wheels repaired (some curb rash from the woman… won’t let that happen again) and powder coated a little darker.
I know… I know…
What do you all think of the last ones? They sell for over $1k each new, and currently the seller is asking $2300 w/ tires.
ISF wheels don’t fit since the F has flared fenders etc. They’re also like $1500 each from Lex. :jerkit:
I forgot you got an IS too… how are you liking it? The guy with those wheels above owns a shop, that was his show car. So the tires have ~1,500 miles on them. I went and inspected the wheels and they are very clean, only one spot of very minor rash (hard to spot unless you’re face is 2 feet away fromt hem). He’ll do $2200 for me with the new lug nuts I need, an extra set of center caps, dismount my stock tires, install my TPMS in the new wheels, mount up the new tires and throw 'em on my bucket. I told him deal, I’ll bring the car Friday. I just ordered my Prokit springs too. Woo woo.

Very nice, but again I’m not going to spend $5k on wheels/tires for this car. I still need to finish the dry sump in the 'vette etc. I’d rather spend $2k on wheels/tires for the IS and put the other $3k into finishing the dry sump and maybe coilovers for the Z than put $5k wheels/tires on the IS.
