hey guys, this isnt for a 240, it’s for my 2000 honda prelude. Nobody on the honda prelude club seem to respond lol so i thought i’d try here…
the lude threw the CEL and the ATTS light(the 2000 model came with ATTS, Active torque transfer system), and the code for the CEL is 80, which indicates the EGR, the ATTS light is throwing codes 25, 43, 72…
no idea what the ATTS codes mean, I cant find info on it anywhere :S
now with the CEL code 80, my mechanic took out the EGR sensor, cleaned it out, cleaned out the valve, and put everything back and reset the ecu…
both lights were gone…the whole day it was fine, no lights…the next day while driving, both CEL and ATTS lights came on at the same time…
any idea what it could be? anybody here with honda experience?
could it not be the EGR? could it be the o2 sensors? from what I know the o2 sensor would throw a code 40 or something around there…but not an 80…
ok the only reason the lights went away for a day was because he reset the ecu obviously he did not fix the problem because they came back. from what i can tell the egr is most likely shot, sometimes cleaning can help but i guess not this time as far as the
ATTS light throwing codes 25, 43, 72… i dont know what the code defs are but i do know the atts light has to do with the transmission and wheel sensors
so you most likely have a problem with in that realm (sorry i cant help much more than that without being there but that ll get u started)
hey. dont know if you fixed the problem, but its an obd2 car??? should it be a Pxxxx code? (eg. P1457 - evap control leak) it will help determine the cause. also the atts light comes on when engine light comes on if it has drivablity concern. Find out what the actual engine light code is. the older prelude had to get the ports drilled. but i’m not to sure about the 2000.
