What kind of tools do I need to mount my own tires? And what procedure do I follow?

wear a rubber
:frustrated :lol Thatās why I need to mount the tires. Cheaper than taking it to a shop every time I wear down a pair of rears. Friction from spinning on the road would wear down my regular rubbers.

Nice Charles. :E
I donāt know what itās called, but youāll need a ātire rackā machine. It places the rim on a little stand and then you rotate this metal bit around the inside of the tire to place it in the right place. Surely one of the mechanically inclined on here know what its called.
Damb, they know my name!!
Best bet is to get it done by a pro, this way you get them ballanced, most places will do it for free/cheap if you get the tires there anyways
First, you need to break the beads on both sides of the tires (The thinner the tire the harder it is to break) But anyways, then you need to get a couple pry bars, put rags on the rim so you donāt damage it, then pry one bead over the rim at a time. Really, itās not worth your time. Just get a shop to do it for youā¦ Plus after that, you have to re-balance them anyways and you canāt do that without a tire balancer machine.
If the tires are low profile, youāre better off to suck it up and spend the money and have a pro do it. Youāll fuck up your rims.
Well, theyāre junker tires and theyād be going on to a set of 15 inch steelies. So Iām not really worried about wrecking much. Besides, I get the strong sensation that Iām gonna be swapping tires on and off the rims fairly frequently this summer so itāll save me a little bit of cash.
**Edit:
Oh good lord, I just got the extent of how horribly clever that was

fuck swapping, buy a cheap set of rims, and change rims/tires when you go drifting or what ever it is your planning on doing with the tires

Go to Princess Auto. They regularly have a manual tire machine for under $100 on sale. I think the regular price is like $119.99.
Thatās the idea. I have the stock 240SX alloys for regular driving and 4 steelies (that I usually have winter tires on) that iāll use to change out the rears for drifting.
And thanks for the heads up chromey.

i happen to have a tire mounting machine :E so for a price im sure we can work something out
disclaimer i am not responsible for anything happening to the rim tire etc haha
pm me if anyone is interested!
Itās always possible that one of our sponsors koffcalikoff can set you up with a deal for swapping tires. Iām not saying for sure, but itās worth a shot?
