Hey to all from upstate

I’m Mike from upstate NY. Came across this site which is cool.I guess my baby which I have been working on is my 1981 Corolla Sportcoupe which I ditched the 3tc and auto trans and dropped in a built Chrysler Conquest 2.6 turbo motor with 5 speed. She’s almost done and I’m guessing high 12’s low 13’s with the setup I have in it now. Well i just wanted to say hello to all.

As a newer member i welcome you. But how bout some more pics of the toyota.

Welcome to the forum! Your car looks in pretty good shape.

Sure,here are more pics.

Heres some more and the autometer gauges that I have for it and mockup panel.

Jesus. Where are all of you 2.6 owners coming from?? LOL Welcome aboard. If you need help with your 2.6…I’m probably the best guy to talk to, on these forums. What’s your setup? Here’s a couple bragging pictures of my setup, lol

Funny, I noticed your Autometer Tach goes all the way to 10,000 rpms. Sad thing is, with that engine, your gonna use just lil bit more then half of that gauge. 2.6’s do not rev high. Stroker motor FTMFW

G54B ewwwwww. hehe. good luck on that. I’ve also owned a few. Pretty easy to work on. Best thing i can say to do is bump that crazy low compression up to 8.5:1- 9:1 and then have a real good time.

I’m running race prepped rods, wiseco pistons,a new non vjet head with mild port job and stainless valves,BSE kit,big 16g turbo, lightened flywheel from 34lbs to 22,knife edged crank, stage 3 clutch, walboro 255lph fuel pump,1G Mas,Accell wires, msg coil, pro cool radiator so far.I have to get a aftermarket regulator for the fuel pressure. The rear end is a 10 bolt lsd with disk brakes. The car weighs 2000lbs.It should be good for up to 7200 rpm. When the motor was stock in my 89 quest it was about 5-5500rpm

welcome

What made you gut the quest, and use a Corolla? I hope you bought most of your stuff from Randy, otherwise known as “Dad” in the SQ community. He’s a well-known parts supplier/engine builder for the Conquest/Starion. Check out his website: http://www.enginemachineservice.com incase you haven’t already. I’ve bought LOTS of things from him in the past, and a couple engines built by him. Very good guy, and an awesome shop as well. I’ve spent quite a few weekends down there.

welcome, cool lil car

I miss my quest =(

I would think high 12’s should be cake at only 2000lbs with that setup
