First, sorry for my difficulty to talk in english because I’m from St-Jérôme, Québec. It is verry close to Montréal. And we talk in french in Québec !
My name is Christian and I’m 22 years old. I decided to subscribe me here because I want to move in Alberta soon. I am a member of Nissan Performance Club in Québec since 3 years. My first Nissan was a 91’ 240sx SE Hicas and there was lot of rust under the car so I sell it to buy a 89’ 240sx whith almost no rust (VERRY VERRY rare in Québec a car whit no rust ! ) I sell it last year to buy a 97’ Maxima GLE. Soon I will plan to sell it to buy a S14 LE to combine the sportivity of the 240sx and the luxe of the Maxima !
It is real that it is verry easy to make lot of money in Alberta ? because here in Québec we have a lot of taxe that make the life verry hard to live ! I bought my Maxima 5500$ and I paid 1000$ just in taxe !
I don’t know if you’ll find it easy making money in Alberta or not, depends on what kind of work you are looking at doing. If you mean the oil patch, then yes, it probably is very easy to make money doing that. I know there is a pretty serious labor shortage here at the moment in practically every industry.
We also tend to pay less tax than other parts of Canada. We have no sales tax, for example, so when you buy things you are only required to pay the 7% GST.
Anyway, if you come out here, definately hit us up. We have lots of fun events and so on about to go on this summer, so you’ll be more than welcome here!
haha who said making good money in the patch was easy, sure ur garunteed to make a shitload of cash, but beleive me theres nothing easy about it, if ur moving to alberta to work in the oilfield industry id strongly reconmend it, not as a career but to make a quick buck, i moved here from bc and thats what im doing, if ur interested i could hook u up with a few names and numbers, unless ur 90 pounds soaking wet ur garunteed a job
I was meaning that it was easy to get a job there, not that it was easy. I’ve heard from a few guys up there what’s involved, and it’s definately not for everyone!
HA HA Yeah right! Hard work my ass. If you weigh at least like 140lbs then get on a one ton picker. You’ll either be twisting wrenches or on pipeline where everything is doneby machinery. I’ve been a laborer for the past three years of my life and the work is a cake walk. But then I quit to be a mechanic. Believe me, you wanna work patch come to Wainwright, you could make upwards of 6k a month. Average I see is like 4k. But thats off and on. I wouldn’t come until about May when break-up is over. I’d stay away from the rigs though. If you were to go on the rigs then get on drilling. Shit hours but much much cleaner.
haha i dont care who u r but being a roughneck on a conventional drilling rig in fort mac in the middle of winter aint easy, but ya over 6000 every 2 weeks is deffinatly worth it
thank for the good introdution. I’m have aproximatively 150lbs and i’m in good shape but i’m not verry verry strong. I have heard that a trucker can make 2K$/week and you just have to pay for the trucker liscence and you d’ont need to make lesson. It is true ?
I probably move in less than 2 month ! Someone can tell me where I should go if I want lot of money. If the job is verry boring, I d’ont care because the money will take me happy  I’m not very strong, but i’m not chiko ! My weight is 150lbs and my height is 5``10. I can work hard but not kill me :axe:
