HID bulb brand

Whats the best brand going right now for d2s Bulbs, i cant find really any info on them, just alot of no name bulbs on the market

Hella or Osram.
Phillips is fine tool.

Why would you look at anything else?

Expect to pay at least $80 for them

phillips has been good for me.

The best D2S bulbs out are the phillips 85122+. Make sure they have the + and your good. They put out a few hundred more lumens than the rest and maintain that brightness longer. Theyre around $80-100 new for a set. You can get a used pair for $40-50ish. Check out hidplanet.com forums. Or ebay.

Any no-name brand hid bulb wont have the precision a true OEM bulb would and the focal point could be crooked or a few mm’s off and it screws up your output. Aka, get phillips or osram. But the 85122+ is the best bulb out there.

BITER!

what abotu the 85122+ vs . Philips Ultinon

the 85122+ burns at 5k. if you have 4300k after so many hours it color shifts and burns at 5k. the 85122+ was designed to match factory hids if one burns out because they are already color shifted.

they are all about the same burn, but quality is what you want to shoot for. id stick with phillips. pretty much ever oem company that runs hids has phillips bulbs.

any differance from one phillips to the other?

The phillips spec sheet says 4300k for the 85122+, and the 85122 spec sheet says 4100k. Im well aware that the 85122+ is a color match bulb. But it also is rated it 2 or 300 lumens more output than any other phillips D2S. The output is whiteish with a yellow hue. Ive been running them for 6 months, and had 85122’s with low hours before. The color match are yellowish, and maintained that. Unlike the 85122 who shift to white after long hours and the output steadily drops. Theyre designed to resist color shifting, thus more light longer.

Yes

Except his looks obviously photoshopped, and yours looks almost real…

And yes…

The ultinon are rated at 6K? output, and theyre quite expensive and hard to find. Sure you get nice color, but you loose around 20-30% of the light vs a 85122+

the higher kelvin you go the darker the output will be… id go no higher then 6k but stay around 4100-5000k you will get the best output and brightest light.

dont you have 6000k in your headlights now? i may have some 85122 phillips d2s bulbs laying around

yea i have 6000k in my headlights right now when they were new the light output was pretty good with the e46 projectors

… LMK if you have any of those 85122’s id rather not spend 200 bux on lights @ xmas time but the ones that i have right now are some cheap no name brand and the output has tanked over the last couple months

Alot of people tell me im your prodigy hahahah so its all good in the hood.

standard 85122’s can be had for around $25-40 in good shape on ebay and hidplanet forums. and $80 new.

really? talk about a slap in teh face

hhahahaah PHILLIPS FTW!
