i own a 2004 saturn ion 3 just did a HID conversion with Gp Thunder 9007 hi/low kit the low beams work great the high beams how ever dont work period. and one have the same problem on there 9007 kit. i know saturn has a very odd wiring harness due to all the options they want there headlights to do. any thoughts would be appriciated.
ITS ILLEGAL!!!..you fucking people need to stop this shit. they are cracking down on plug and play kits. they cause way to much fucking glare and are extremely dangerous for other drives. i cant wait till they ban plug and play kits
if you are going to do hids you need to retro fit a projector made for hids. certain cars dont have projectors and have hids but there headlights are designed for them
the result of putting hids in a halogen headlight
what a diaster
hid in a halogen headlight left…halogen right
horrible glare which is dangerous to other drivers
hids in a projector. the way they were intended
the correct way the hid should look, perfect cut off with color
another perfect cut off
articale on it

mine look like pic 2 just no high beams
i highly doubt that if you have a hid in a halogen headlight, you have nothing cutting the light off. thats what a projector does. they arent there to be pretty they have a cut off inside of them
some asshole near me has a grand prix with HIDS and it fucking kills me. Its rediculus
where did you get that picture? are you on hidplanet? thats a picture from Doppleganger on hidplanet and those are in e46 projectors. its pretty impossible to have a cut off like that with out a projector. id like to see a picture of your acutal lights
forget i asked. i guess the question is being taken out of context. it wasn’t a question about hids being fucken stupid or illegal just simply about high beams
yes hidplanet btw
im telling you this because they are fucking becoming illegal. fuck your highs retro fit a bixenon projector in…PROBLEM SOLVED legal and better
are you positive they are low and high? i dont think that hids can have a high/low. its normally just heat rated and to run a high low in a car for an hid you use a bixenon which is a projector with a motorized cut off. there probably is no high beam hense it not working unless they gave you 2 seprate bulbs
the question was more or less about the wiring issues i understand your thoughts of retrofiting a legit kit the problem comes down to the wiring harness that factory has to many differentials to be subjected to a retrofit kit even the dealer stated the same.
hid bulbs do not come with high and low there is no filament like a halogen bulb. they are gas. so either you have 2 seprate bulbs and wireing is screwed up or you have no highs at all.
the bulbs are a high low set up behind the bulb sits a motorized cut off offseting the bulbs approx 10 deg
that would have been more helpful in your FIRST POST.
is the cut off not moving? is there a way to test it?
sorry no the cutoff moves not sure exactly whats going on with it. there is one way but a chance to get a serious zap if done wrong
if the cut off moves then you should have highs right? all your highs will be is some extra light that was blocked by the cut off. pull up to a garage door or something and hit your highs. if more light shines on the garage then they are working
use a battery to test it. its only 12v it wont hurt
already tried theres no light shining out once the cut off is activated. if u live near op ide show u
i live in west seneca, im not a 100% sure whats going on, id more or less have to see it. i just dont see how theres no more light if the cut off moves. then again it may not be a whole lot of light at all.
i ran hids for 2 years now and never needed my high beams
what heat are your bulbs?
8000k yea you really dont need them but i do alot of driving to albany at like 4am and theres absolutly nothing on the road except the damn deer
