HID's and relays Q **attn LAYZIE**

No i have like e36 or whatever bi-xenons now and FX waiting. I got lucky and one set i have looks like they are clear lens.

s2k’s are really crisp with a vibrant cutoff. wish i had the money for those or tsx. two sets of fx only cost me 80 bucks.

I didn’t realize the sti were adjusted in the car. lol i wish the cobalts were. mine are still adjustable though.

edit~im guessing the tsx was not in reference to me

Actually I believe he referred to a post I made but deleted. I recommended the RSX projectors but forgot the S2000 was a dual-filament setup. This confusion was my fault, sorry.

are the fx lenses clear or frosted? i thought they were more then that. i actually used rx330 in my civic, i did some color mod them and they had amazing output. that was with frosted lenses. with clear lenses it would have been much better.

OOOOOOO snky mike

some are clear…some are frosted. I have a set that are frosted and a set that are clear. Very hard to tell the one set is frosted though. The FX became cheap when they were recalled along with the nissan HID setups.

edit~or maybe it was just infiniti getting teh recall…i can’t recall, ha.

best set up i have seen is s2k with fx lenses. it has amazing output. it will straighten the cut off and make the light output more intense. (less dark spots)

no other modes other then lens swap

just to be clear, bi-xenon is just when the projector uses a shield (or changes the direction of the bulb) to make it a “high beam”

If yes, I apparently have bi-xenon projectors. So I’ll have to wire in the actuators for the shield as well.

a bi-xenon moves the cut off forward letting out more light.

should have a solenoid that drops the shield down to allow more light out. You will have to put a diode between your high and low beam trigger wires. This will keep the ballast ON so the headlights don’t flicker when you put your highbeams on. I’ll have to dig up the drawing a guy did for it when i get home. Or maybe i have a picture before i wired everything up.

and therefore taking the place of a high beam right?

So I would again have to use another relay for the actuators to keep a constant power source to them while I wanted to have brighter output.

EDIT - greenbull, that drawing will be very helpful.

Nah, you’ll only need one relay for the whole deal. Much easier to read the diagram.

good stuff. Any particular specs on a relay? or just some autozone piece.

i got one from radioshack 30a automotive type 12V relay.

how i did mine

end result. i used molex computer connectors and made it so i could plug the harness into the power and ground for the bi-xenons.

layzie-those modded s2k are pretty damn sharp and awesome color.

Lazie; thats a pretty badass cutoff. Nice prism effect.

violator check out this color modified tsx projector. most color i have seen yet in a cut off. i forgot how far the car is away, but it is a super wide colorful cut off.

only the left side seems to have all the color though

its crazy all the color he has in his cut off.

ya its haknslash, he is a site admin

I havent played with projectors in a while. Last ones I did were out of a Porsche.
Not much color. Have you tried bending the shields in to get more color?

these guys do amazing retros. the sti retros look absolutely amazing. i may actually send my lights to him just because he gets them to work with the electronic headlight adjustment.

wow some of those are pretty damn good. Mine looks like a total hackjob
