Does anyone know how well the hks bov works on a 2g?(I know that it works great on my boy’s wrx & it is loud). I current have a Greddy RS bov with recirc kit.And it is not loud at all. I know because the bov is recirculated.It is not as loud as it would be with it is venting.I try to venting for a little while also but it still didn’t seem loud.(It got louder just a bit) I want to get some feedback from people that actually own this bov.I heard from some shops that I go to.For me not to get it cause the bov causes the car to die out!!!???
Also,I already have the greddy upper intercooler piping.Could I mount it on top of that?or would I need to buy a special adapter to mount on my greddy piping?
Would it be a good idea to trade with someone that has a HKS Bov with my greddy.(I had it for about a month & a half almost).Or just buy one and sell my greddy with the recirc kit & adapter?
Sounds like you care more about the noise than whether the BOV does it’s job.
You can’t run an HKS SSV wihout circulation safely. There are one or two exceptions, and it’s really not worth explaining if you don’t have the equipment to do it/reason to do it other than making noise.
If you want a car that can have a loud BOV (running without re-circ) sell your DSM and buy something else.
Cliffnotes: Yes the HKS works well with the DSM, no you can’t run it without recirculation (in most instances).

First of all,I ask the people that have a 2g dsm that have a hks bov.How does it run in their car & also how does it sound with it recirculated.(Cause I heard it dies out on the 2g dsms).
I know that I would need to get a 3" Mas with a Maft if I wanted to vent my bov.But it is not worth spending that kind of money for just the sounds & plus I would need a dsmlink to tune it.Also the 2g Mas is a little bigger than the 3"Mas that is needed if I wanted vent my bov right.(why would I go smaller just to vent)That why it brings us back to how the Hks performs & sounds recirculated.
Well not to sound like a dick, but your first post makes you sound like you have no idea what you are talking about. The fact that you considered running without your circulation just to get a better sound says as much.

So now that you say you do, then what’s there to ask? Sounds like you already know the answer. The HKS works just fine with the DSM as long as you recirculate or use the MAF and the car is properly tuned. It doesn’t make much noise when recirculated. The noise is equivelant to a 1G BOV unless you are running extremely high boost. You want your car to not run properly, run it without the recirc for a while. So either get the MAF for your cool noises, or be satisfied with not having the loudest noise. The advavntage of the HKS is you don’t have any issues with leaking or messing with springs/washers.
