You’re right, but a 1080i TV still can’t do more than 1360x768 as a computer monitor. Why? Computers don’t output interlaced images, only progressive scan images.

So when buying a TV for use as a computer monitor, the highest resolution you’ll be able to see will be the highest progressive image the TV can display.

So like I said,

Sure you could have a video card that outputs an interlaced image to a TV, but it won’t look any good.
