Extending my daughter’s closet into the attic. Worst possible place to build it. Joists over the garage weren’t rated for load, were a different height than the rest, a ceiling joist had to be removed which meant a bunch of bracing, and there’s a drop in the floor because of a tray ceiling below.
But, it was an excuse to replace the hand-me-down circular saw with a new DeWalt, and also bought a DeWalt nail gun that shoots up to 16d full head nails.

i’m not going with any fancy composits…just plain old southern pine. we’re not sure how long we’ll be staying in this house. just finished bolting up the ledger board today though. i’ll start up a thread soon.
