To me it looks like a perfect example of how taxing the rich doesn’t really help the middle class. I’m sure this will play out at companies across the nation. We had a great year this year at my company and my boss passed a lot of that down to the employees in our profit sharing checks this year. I’m sure if he gets hit with a bunch of new taxes next year he’s going to pass that pain down too though.
Hmm, I’d rather be given a tax cut directly than have them give it to mr. tinfoilhat and trust him to pass it on to me and not spend it on adding another wing to his new house or something. But that’s just me.

yea, but is the check for last years taxes (which they paid) or is it for this years taxes (which i just paid)
They used my 2006 income tax return to determine how much I got so I really doubt the rebate is for taxes paid this year.

I may be wrong, but I think that the application is for next year. If you didn’t apply last year, then you aren’t getting one.

If you received a notification letter, you must apply by December 31, 2008 to receive the 2008 rebate. After receiving the letter, you can apply online using the STAR Code provided to you for your property. Apply online for your 2008 STAR Rebate.
