Homeowners step in. Foundation time

Dam. I take it you have a block foundation?

Whole house is block. All the way up to the roof.

Whoa. That’s kind of unusual for buffalo isnt it?

He is afraid of the big bad wolf.
Block has an R value of like 3.
Yeah it’s rare around here.
I had a friend who vinyl sided his block house.
It only took about 20,000 22 caliper nail shots to fir it out.:biglaugh:

There are plenty out there, but only a small percentage of the total out there.

X…

the proper way to fix this is to dig up the outside and patch the outside. The pros use a kind of rubber sheet tared to the wall where the crack is, then new drain tile is installed to take the water away. I dont care what kind of system is used on the inside as far as Im concerned no water should come in at all.

^truth.
Anything you do on the inside is treating the symptom not actually fixing the problem.
New drain tile is the proper fix but, do you want to invest that much in this particular house?
If you do, use the plastic sheeting outside that has large dimples in it.
It works better than tar because it eliminates hydraulic pressure on the wall and allows any water to drop to the drain tile.

i have kinda that same issue at my house and need to get it fixed… does anyone have good #'s to call for the PRO’s …
