Duane Youngblood
A Homestead pastor was charged today with sexually abusing a boy who had gone to him for counseling because the boy had been molested by a family member.
Allegheny County police said Duane Youngblood, head of the Higher Call World Outreach Church, is charged with four counts.
They allege that in the fall of 2002, Mr. Youngblood began to counsel a 15-year-old and sexually abused him once during a session in the church office.
Police did not know why the boy waited three years, until the fall of 2005, to report the alleged assault. It is the policy of the Post-Gazette not to identify the victims of alleged sexual assaults.
Mr. Youngblood surrendered today, accompanied by his attorney.
As he was taken to jail, he did not comment directly on the charges but told reporters, “Just encourage the people of God to pray.” .
I agree that it’s unnatural to ask someone to stay celebate their whole life, and probably leads to some of this. But, this is a pastor, not a priest. They can get married.
LOL, ^, but anyway the reason for staying celebate is a test for those who choose to walk the higher path of god(preist, sister, bishop, etc),proving the purity to “GOD” I think they should be able to get married, and procreate, as stated in the bible(that man should), but hey the catholic church makes there own rules I guess.
if you can’t make the sacrifice don’t be a priest, nun, whatever. people now just want their cake and eat it too, thats not how religion works. whether i think that right or not doens’t matter. it not in the cards for me to make a sacrifice like that. if you want to be a catholic priest you gotta make a big sacrifice, if you wanna be a misnister and have a wife there are plenty of other religions that allow that.
some people can’t accept the insignificance of their existence and take comfort in the Linus blanket of religion. unless they infringe on my day to day life with edicts from their ficticious gods, more power to them.
Personally im not into the entire religon thing never have been…
however
i would never call religon a close nite cult. nor would i poke fun at those that believe in a higher being be it god budda what have you. some people need to believe in that stuff others dont.
im not saying pastors priests and what not should go around molesting little children. what i am saying is if you want to make jokes do it towards what the problem is. and the problem is not religion the problem is a bunch of sickos out there touching little children
