My thoughts:
Budget Turbo setup - D16A6/D16Z6, HF manifold w/ adapter plate, T25 or a 14b ($50 in servicable condition if you know where to look), ebay intercooler painted flat black, figure out the charge piping and downpipe yourself. DSM injectors (390’s or 450’s). Convert to OBD1 and tune with crome.

Stick an F22 or F23 in it. Under the hood it will look like a D-series, but will have shittons more torque.

This will not be a turbo project. I’m looking to buy either a urs6 or another b5 once the GLI sells. How hard of a swap is a f22/f23 into an ef?
