my m20 in my bmw has 198 on it and looks the same
looks like it could have used a seafoam treatment before you took the head off
if the grooves are deep they will still be there after 400,000. Doesnt mean much

i have a 1989 chevy 4.3L V6 with 160k and the bores were still clean
most newer fuel injection vehicles have typical lack of wear like that unless they are running really rich. every 2.2/2.5L dodge 4banger ive pulled apart looked perfect in the bores if it wasnt blown up from too much boost. i did have one dodge shadow motor that had a few scratches from broken rings.
